2014 Cruise Schedule

At this time not sure what we'll do this year. Both the Vette and Hello Kitty Miata are basically out of action and my time is crunched. We'll do at least a couple runs in the second half of the year.

Shaolin Crane 02-06-2014 09:06 PM

I'm feeling gassy, congested and some kind of way.

firstshadow 02-08-2014 10:31 AM

Sounds good to me, I miss the motorgen drives!

blackax 02-09-2014 01:40 AM

I should be down

Darkstar 02-09-2014 08:16 AM

Looks good. Itchin for a good cruise.

BOOSTMONSTR 02-13-2014 02:33 PM

Let's make it March 16th, so I can go. I'll be driving back from Seattle on the 9th.

silvein 02-18-2014 12:49 PM

I'm good for March 9th or 16th.

blackax 02-18-2014 01:55 PM

I'm ok with the 16

Vettezuki 02-18-2014 04:42 PM

If we do March, it will be the 16th as I'll be on a plane on the 9th.

blackax 02-26-2014 11:20 AM

How about this roue for the Cruise?

kdracer73 02-26-2014 07:07 PM

I'm out for Mulholland...

Redondo Jon 03-03-2014 08:21 PM

Me too, I’m out for this one.

Vettezuki 03-03-2014 08:46 PM

Ditching March. Don't have the time to put anything together.

C5Natie 03-04-2014 07:27 PM

I'm going to the SVT meet this Sunday but if anyone would like to go up ACH on the 16th I'm down. I've been wanting to go up there. I know it's scheduled for July but I can go every month. Lol. Also I'm always good for Supercar Sunday too. Just lmk if anyone wants to come along.

Redondo Jon 03-05-2014 04:18 PM

Hey Natie, do you know if ACH got any snow from this rain? Is the road even open?

I don't think ACH opens up all the way through until May at the earliest.

firstshadow 03-05-2014 06:29 PM

Regarding ACH conditions, refer to http://www.dot.ca.gov/hq/roadinfo/display.php?page=sr2

currently:
"SR 2
[IN THE SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA AREA]
IS CLOSED FROM ISLIP SADDLE TO BIG PINES (LOS ANGELES CO) - DUE TO A ROCK
SLIDE - MOTORISTS ARE ADVISED TO USE AN ALTERNATE ROUTE

CHAINS OR SNOW TIRES ARE REQUIRED FROM 1 MI EAST OF NEWCOMB'S RANCH TO
ISLIP SADDLE (LOS ANGELES CO)"

Redondo Jon 03-05-2014 09:06 PM

Well it’ll probably be the same bunch of us idiots who did GMR in the dead of winter. Actually, that was a pretty fun run.

C5Natie 03-05-2014 10:25 PM

Well I guess ACH will have to wait. GMR has no snow. Thats always a fun drive.

How about this: https://www.google.com/maps/dir/34.2...!1m0!3e0?hl=en It’s a variation of what we did last year and as far as I can tell, the roads are open. I don’t think my back can handle GMR at the moment; I need a more flowing road.

Looks good to me. Let's see if anyone wants to join like last time. Get a little group up there.

firstshadow 03-08-2014 10:07 AM

^ ditto. I'm down for that :)

Redondo Jon 03-08-2014 12:26 PM

Good. All we need now is a start-time & maybe a few more people. Also, we don’t necessarily have to start where this map says. We can always do what we did last time.

firstshadow 03-10-2014 12:22 PM

You mean at panera/the habit? That works good for small meets.

This sunday? What time?

Redondo Jon 03-10-2014 07:28 PM

Yes. I just pick that other spot on Oakwood because it’s very quiet & we’re left alone. Panera Bread has that parking structure where we were last time & that’s fine for our small group. Time? Well, I don’t care when we go. Hopefully Natie will chime in soon.

BOOSTMONSTR 03-11-2014 06:13 PM

So I guess there's no official March cruise... That's too bad, I just picked up my new ride.

Redondo Jon 03-11-2014 06:37 PM

No “official” Motorgen cruise but you’re more than welcome to join us for this.

Redondo Jon 03-12-2014 07:10 PM

Okay, meet up on the top portion of the parking structure behind Panera Bread: 990 Town Center Dr. La Cañada Flintridge, CA 91011 at 9:30 A.M. leave at 10:00 A.M. March 16, 2014. Sound good?

I'll see if I can make it out

Darkstar 03-14-2014 12:04 PM

Im in.

C5Natie 03-14-2014 12:27 PM

Man I hate to do this but I'm out for tomorrow. Some last minute stuff came out and i gotta help my folks out. I was really looking forward to it too.

firstshadow 03-14-2014 12:53 PM

^ but tomorrow is Saturday and the meet is on sunday...

DarkestSpade 03-14-2014 10:28 PM

Darn, I could make it tomorrow but not a Sunday Cruise.

Have fun.

firstshadow 03-14-2014 11:02 PM

Well, looks like the forces are against me. I was lubricating my rear sway bar bushings and when I torqued the mounts back down, the studs were all stretching and falling off. I replaced all 4 of them and then when I put the rear of my car back on the ground, I somehow got a flat tire from a pin (while it was in the air???) :surrender:

Well, I'll aim for the next meet at this rate. Whatever can go wrong, will go wrong :sm_laughing:

Redondo Jon 03-15-2014 11:29 AM

Unless there’s some folks who want to go but just haven’t said anything, let’s scratch this one.

silvein 03-23-2014 05:53 PM

My life gets interesting, I stop paying attention here, and I miss stuff.

Oh well.

firstshadow 04-21-2014 09:18 AM

I've never done palomar - what is it like compared to mulholland, crest, and gmr?

Vettezuki 04-21-2014 11:02 AM

It has its own character. Mix of valley road leading up, tight mountain raods (slower than the ACH), great scenery, meadows on the backside coming down to the lake, and a good BBQ restaraunt at the end.

Unfortunately I can't do this, me mum is having surgery on Friday and I'll be looking after her that weekend. So this is not on the schedule. Updating OP.
