01-06 Gsxr R6 Cbr

So I'm looking into buying a sport bike (01-06 mainly) right now I'm leaning towards an R6. (600cc-750)

What do I need to look for when I'm checking these out? Are any of these bikes carbureted? When someone lays one of these down hard, and replaces the ferring, is there something specific on the frame that I should be looking for?

Help a brother out.

What is your budget? Have you considered a universal like an FZ6/1, or do you insist on a true sport bike?

Sporty sport bike.

$3K. I actually found a low mileage sweet lookin R6 last night for 3.6K, I'm going to call the guy but I'm almost positive that it's a salvage.

sorry sorry. R6 are nice its a good first bike for sport bikes. get anything 04+ and salvaged stay way from. No if buts or ands stay way alot of insurace companys won't even cover you if you have a salvaged bike. Just know that the r6 are more of a race seating postion doesn't mean its faster on a track just that whole mind fuck type thing. If you look at gsxrs 04+ my first was a 600 04 gsxr which i loved awesome in the canyons. Cbrs I try to stay way from they are nice have no soul??? Although my go-cart has a 92 cbr 600 f2 motor in it. Anyways go down to berts call me if you want send me a pm or something and go sit on a bike see what you like the best.

For a good starter bike try 4800 that gets you one you won't have to worry about falling apart on ya. I know you said 3k but that doesn't get you much that won't have problems.

CBR600 is one of the best starter bikes..
