Theoretical Boost Question

I'm about 10.7CR now on my all aluminum LS motor. I have forged pistons and rods, high end fasteners all around, so even with the nodular crank, it should be able to handle 600+WHP all day long without breaking a sweat. I'd never even really want that in a street car honestly, but just curious, how many pounds of inter cooled boost from a centrifugal blower it would take with 91? I'm thinking not whole lot, maybe 6psi max.

You'll need more than 6 psi, have to account for power loss of the blower, even at the CR. Also I don't think you could/should run more than 6psi at that compression.

600hp is a hoot though.

My motor runs about 6 pounds and it should be good up to about 10 ish with my CR of 10.5

Thanks. At least for now, definitely going to keep it NA. If a proper exhaust and a retune gets me to a 420, and especially with more under the curve, not just peak, I think I'll be happy. It's fairly ridiculous for a streetcar as it is at 390WHP, 3,100lbs, and relatively short gearing.

Ran accelerator for years to move octane to about 93. My compression was about 11.2:1.

7lbs max intercooled G. And I melted a piston staying within their limits. Plus, it depends on the type of forging. 4032 forging isnt good enough for boost. You need the 2618.

Stick with a chemical supercharger for days when you want to tear it up in 3rd gear ;)

Chemical sc?

I was at 600rwhp with 7-8psi of boost on 91 with my ls3. Stock crank too, they'll handle 900 HP so don't worry. About 10.5cr here
