April meet idea... maybe

I heard this from a friend of mine, just wanted to see if anyone wanted to go or whatever. It is a Mile run on an airstrip as fast as you can go, if speed kills I'm a dead man. Its up in Mojave, CA. On April the 10th I believe. http://www.mojavemile.com/ is the website. Just a suggestion but there should be quite a few cars up there. Giving people plenty of time to check it out.

Yea that's what I was thinking, and why I want to go. It should be awesome.

As in Knott's berry farm? Whats going on there that is more fun than going 150 mph?

SkunkLookingCar 01-31-2011 04:13 PM

This looks really cool. Unfortunately with my 3.91 rear end, my car runs out of gears at 167 miles per hour. I would think that I should be able to make it a bit faster than that when the new engine is up and running. Their website says that a stock Z06 hits about 170. I think my new engine should have a bit more grunt than the Z06. Maybe I should look into swapping in a 3.33 ring and pinion. That would bump my top speed to 196 mph. Or I can put the 3.45 ring and pinion back in that the rear end came with and rev 200 more rpm to get the same top speed.

I got to stop daydreaming and get back to work.

Maybe you shouldn't let work get in the way of day dreaming. My dad's friend with an 800hp Z06 was going to try and go but it's his girlfriend's birthday so he has to stay. It's hard to get past 170 anyways. Run that thing my boy!

I would be limited to 112mph with my tires. I pass that on the 1/4 mile.:o
speed ratings:
S 112 mph 180 km/h
T 118 mph 190 km/h
U 124 mph 200 km/h
H 130 mph 210 km/h
V 149 mph 240 km/h
W 168 mph 270 km/h
Y 186 mph 300 km/h
