Widen Rims?
Does anyone know a shop that does this? Or a general cost to widen rims? I'm talking about, slicing them down the center, adding material and rewelding.

Chuck and I found a guy who said he could this type of thing. Picked up the wheels, had them for 2 months, sent them back and said he can't do it :smack:

Here's a company I know some Mustang guys have used with success.

Awesome, thanks Joe. Need to offset my trailing arms then I will be doing this. I plan to go in as far as possible, without cutting the frame. It would be so nice to get some 335s back there.

I thought about doing flares when I was doing body work but I don't like the way they look. Looks like gummy bear tires will be my best option. I think with some Hoosiers 295s on my 19s I should be able to stop crying about traction so much. Do you guys think my diff will hold up to this? How about my clutch? My clutch is supposed to be good for only 500 ft/ lbs. |

I talked to Gary already before I installed the blower. He says the weak links are the side yokes, the ring gear bolts? and the posi clutches. I guess I could take it apart and just upgrade all of that stuff and see if it holds. Before I dump 3.5K into a 12 bolt.

Before you spend any more $$ on upgrades, I would install an SFI bell housing, flywheel, and saftey yokes. Right now, your tires are the "saftey valve." Hook them up hard, and it will become somewhere else.;) |

Alot of people look into C4 rear end when swapping LS's into FC's for more strength and more gearing options so you might look into that. Not sure what kind of power they can take but the TII rear can take upwards of 500hp and the C4 swap is said to be a substantial improvement.
But if your looking for strait line traction and grenade proofing, a 12 bolt or 9 inch would probably be a better investment. |

You're right about the C4 Dana 44 as a good replacement for C3s, but the 12bolt is the best big power sticky option. Neverthless, at 390WHP I've gotten dozens of drag radial launches on my C3 aluminum Dana 44 . . . |
