Motorgen's First Annual Cars, Guns. Beach

Some pics from the shoot at Prado.

Some people have better aim than others.

This pic looks fake, but it ain't. This is what we were shooting at.

Guy (a.k.a., Shaolin Crane) on the left, his GF Vanessa middle, and Cliff (a.k.a., GTTS>Some) right.

Guy shows Vanessa some stuff.

Ah, that's adorable. Guy instructed my brother and I as well but refused to use the spoon method.

Guy, imagining something we don't want to imagine.

Can you find the ejected shell?

Uh oh, it's my brother the Israeli Irish hit man. Note that Vanessa having mastered the subject is now instructing.

"Can't hit the side of a barn" Cliff preparing to bring the pain.

Silly boys, this is how you do it.

Hey look, I'm gonna shoot dollar bills (almost).

And, because we are a car web site after all, Cliff shows us his latest mod.

Leedom 04-15-2010 07:58 AM

I like it. Nothing like blowing off a little steam at the range and then driving responsible to eat meat!

mustangray 04-15-2010 09:24 AM

Let me get this right, Guns, Burnt meat, and the beach, throw in some Bacon (Gods most perfect food) and it would be perfect I'm in!!!

enkeivette 04-15-2010 01:05 PM

I wouldn't go but I'll bet my friend Mike would want to go. He rides a Harley and that 420A Turbo Avenger.

I've had it done before and it was a good thing, you are just making it sound better and better.

gunfish 04-15-2010 09:53 PM

Sounds good!

mdpalmer 04-15-2010 11:40 PM

I don't know a thing about firearms, but meeting down @ the beach is something I'm always down with. Do you have a spot in mind @ the beach? Bolsa Chica, or near the pier, or where...? I've had success @ Bolsa, but you have to pay $15/car to park these days. We may be able to park in the lot directly to the east of the Bolsa entrance for free. If you hang out north of the HB pier, but south of Bolsa, you can park on the street, but you have to walk a bit, generally speaking, to get to the beach...

kdracer73 04-16-2010 07:01 AM

I like the idea, but will be in San Jose visiting my daughter that weekend.

GTTS > Some 04-16-2010 07:09 AM

Any place we can have a bon-fire & hand prints on cave walls?

I'm in, have to use my aging ammo for something

GTTS > Some 04-16-2010 07:37 AM

Great idea, here's one for the second run.

Fish Canyon Range :gatlin:, Azusa (605 @ 210), then a run up to Mt. Baldy :drive:, tram ride :bananallama: to the top for lunch :drool:with a view:nuts:.

It seems we have at least a few "firearms enthusiasts". Let's go shoot something! I mean that in a socially responsible way.

Firing Line Huntington Beach?
Late May? (Like Saturday May 29)

I'm thinking meet for shooting, then cruise down to the ocean for BBQ, etc.

Feedback please.

Duly noted. Great idea!

Chuck 04-16-2010 05:34 PM

I am in either way. But I like Mt. Baldy idea better beach is a parking nightmare 22nd is better the old lady wants to go and she works the opposite weekends. This sounds like the perfect time to break out the S&W 500 I haven't had a chance to shoot it yet. I got about 60 rounds at $2.00 a piece. So thats a sure way to blow some money in this economy.

BRUTAL64 04-17-2010 04:36 PM

>Firing Line< in Huntington Beach.Been going there for years.:judge:

Long ways to carry weapons too. Something more local like Firing line in HB is good.

Ben, you are aware that this (May 29) is a holiday weekend right??? Sean and I will not be able to assist with getting a fire pit at the beach if you pick this weekend (due to lil Jack) but the prior weekend isn't an issue. :)

I thought Fish Canyon was closed?

GTTS > Some 04-18-2010 08:22 PM

Noooooooo! yeeees, damn, not again.

The second trip is out, all-gone. Burro canyon is still open but no one should go there, they shoot with bags over their heads. How is it that all the freedoms for the many keep getting taken away for the demands of only a few? :crap:Found the info on "Fish Canyon" (link attached), thanks for the heads up, it's been a few years since I was there with my M1A1 .308 Super Match.

More data-dump

Looks like the San Gabriel Valley Gun Club (Fish Canyon) took over or merged with Burro Canyon, and if so it would be safe to shoot there, that club is "PRO". However, dirt roads to get there, the last time I went there 10 years ago, anyway, tic-toc.

Vettezuki 05-06-2010 05:20 PM

We need like 6 people at least to commit to the range time. Let us know EITHER WAY, by clicking here.

jedhead 05-08-2010 07:49 AM

I won't be able to make it. May is a busy month for me on weekends. I have to get ready for the Strawberry Festival. The youth group I am involved with has the Strawberry Shortcake concession and takes most of my time for the month, especially the weekend before and Memorial Day Weekend.

Bob

Shaolin Crane 05-09-2010 02:08 AM

I'm in, i need to test out my latest mods to my 1911, hopefully i'll have a new piece for my lady to shoot by then

Leedom 05-09-2010 10:45 PM

I do not owe a gun but would love to go with you guys. Shannon will be out of town that weekend so I would be flying solo.

kdracer73 05-09-2010 10:58 PM

Frankie and I have to make a run out to Palm Desert This weekend. :bang:

I have another .45 you can borrow if you'd like to use it, just buy some ammo
on another note, lytle creek is an awesome place to shoot

Vettezuki 05-12-2010 11:13 PM

I'm changing the date to June 26 for a couple reasons.

1 - kdracer73 and jedhead couldn't make the 22nd.
2 - I gotta pile of crap I'd like to make some headway on.
3 - This May has been a bit cold. Cold beach = not as much fun.
4 - June 26 is a full moon!
