August 8th Motorgen Meet/Ortega Canyon Run

August Monthly Motorgen Meet at Nick's Burger in Fullerton. Here is the link with details! The meet starts at 6:30p.m. A great mix of domestic, import, and euro. Everyone is welcome - the food is good and it's a great group of people!

The address for Nick's is:

Nick's Burger
1712 W. Orangethorpe Ave
Fullerton, CA 92833

Here are some pictures from last month's meet:

Last month we basically filled the lot, it was a blast :)

Also, for those interested we are planning on doing a cruise through Ortega Canyon before the meet. Here is the finalized route. For those of you that want to cruise we will be meeting at the parking lot across the street from Nick's at 3:30 and will leave at 4:00. We will be back in time for the meet to start at 6:30. For those that want to meet us on the cruise down by the mouth of Ortega Canyon, we will set up a meet point down there in the next day or two. A friend and I are going to drive the route tomorrow to make sure we aren't going to run into construction or anything and I will post further details at that point.

If anyone has any questions or needs to reach me, my cell is 714-322-2324 and my email is SeanPlunk@gmail.com. I'll see you all there!

I'm down if I get my dist back before then.

Leedom 08-01-2009 11:11 PM

I am there as usual!

Vettezuki 08-02-2009 02:46 AM

I have a playoff game 1-4 in Irvine. I think I'll run up the back way and just intersect ya'lls on Ortega.

enkeivette 08-02-2009 09:57 AM

Cambria will be lonely without Zuki's Vette. :(

I'll meet up with you guys on the road probably somewhere along Ortega, Cannonball style. Yee ha!

Sonic03SVT 08-02-2009 06:03 PM

If the cobra is back up by then ill be there

sinaSRT-4 08-02-2009 09:57 PM

I will be at the meet but not going on the cruise :(. My transmission isn't ready yet but I will gladly ride along with any of the SRT drivers that show up. :D

SeanPlunk 08-03-2009 09:45 PM

Here is the finalized route.

For those of you in North County we will meet in the large lot across the street from Nick's at 3:30p.m. We will be leaving promptly at 4:00p.m. We should be at the meet point in South County no later than 4:45p.m.(point B on the map).

The South County meet point is off of the 5 fwy and Ortega Highway. From the 5 south we will be exiting and turning left. From there we will continue on until we cross Rancho Viejo Rd. At this point we will be taking the next right into the Ortega Business Center. We will meet up with the South County group at this point and head through the canyon.

Once we get through the canyon we will be stopping at the Lake Elsinore Outlet Mall in the Pottery Barn parking lot to meet up before hitting the 15 fwy. The address for the Pottery Barn is (Point C on the map):

Lake Elsinore Outlets
17600 Collier Ave., Suite J195
Lake Elsinore, CA 92530

It is a large lot and we're just going to meet up there briefly before getting on the 15. We will then caravan together up the 15 back to the 91 all the way back up to Nick's. With any luck we should make it back just in time for the meet to start at 6:30p.m. I'll have directions printed out the day of to hand out to everyone. If anyone has any questions give me a call. See you Saturday!

Sean

Ah yes I remember...I took care of all my other problems associated with exhaust leaks, the BOV, and brake shoes sticking ;). I had to remover the SOB turbo, exhaust mani, O2 housing and a bunch of other things to do so. That thing was a PITA!

All that is left is the tranny...We're on the same boat man! Joe dirt will see my car next weekend to get the LSD installed and the brand new Clutch release lever, pivot ball, and TOB. :D

If you can get a cryo-treated fork from PTP since it is the same price as the stealership with the benefits of cryo treatment. I can get it cheaper for you without going to PTP's website.

sinaSRT-4 08-04-2009 01:53 PM

Tyler, there are a few other SRT members that are also showing (supposedly). I think we might be able to leave our cars somewhere around the meet spot and ride along with some of them. There is no need for you to go through the canyon with a transmission that is not 100% IMO.

What do you think man?

thats possible, its my dads birthday though so I might be MIA haha. I feel ya though, I have no desire to hit the canyons if I can't shift... my coilovers will make it fun but I don't even like driving my car right now... yuck.

As far as the PTP TOB fork goes HECK YES HOOK ME UP. haha. Buyin that and a new clutch with a TOB and should put me back in a decent spot... then I can track the whip again if 3rd ends up being ok. i'll know after I pull it apart. how much is Joe Dirt charging you? he basically doing it for you???

guyturbotalon 08-04-2009 08:38 PM

i should be going i will either be driving one of my dads cars a 360 modena or a 911 turbo with 480 to the wheels!

It's cool, I'll take the Porsche, then we can have both. :) Just PM Talon and we can work out the details. ;)

jk, SoCal, my cousin will be there (I think) in his pretty basic 911 and you can beat on him if it makes you feel good about yourself, meanie.

Last night. I was going to go with something dark and sinister, but decided to go the other way instead. Or really dark and sinister depending on how you look at it. Sean calls me lots of names . . . pussy isn't one of them. :smack:

Hell I just wanted to see the 360, seeing how I missed last months dinner!

As much as my distaste for Porsches they are still great performance cars, id definitely have my butt handed to me in most races; track or strip

guyturbotalon 08-06-2009 07:42 AM

So it looks like ill be bringing the 996 turbo, hes taking the 360 out to dinner on saturday, but dont worry the car is super clean and not stock, oh and it spanks the 360 all day long!

mdpalmer 08-06-2009 09:04 AM

^^ Damn that's clean  I will be at the meet for sure, I may go on the cruise, my girlfriend's car should be running too so I'm trying to get her to go as well :)
