3rd Annual Motorgen Angeles Crest Cruise July 10th!

[EDIT: Vettezuki] Go here for pics and vids from the cruise.

-----------------------
OP

Alright everyone, it's that time again. The front part of Angeles Crest is closed so we're starting a little further north this year. A few members ran this exact route a few weeks ago though, so I know it's good.

The plan is to meet at Ralphs at 3:30p.m. and leave for the cruise at 4:00p.m. The address for the Ralphs is:

10455 Sunland Blvd.
Sunland, CA 91040

The cruise route we're going to take will run about an hour and 45 minutes, so we should be done by 6:00p.m. I'm looking at different dinner options and I'll try to finalize a place and post it in the thread in a couple days.

Last year we had somewhere in the neighborhood of 50 cars, so it should be a great one. It's an incredible drive if you've never been. See you all there!

Did that run a few years ago and the group decided to eat at Ontario Mills.
Wrong, place was packed one hour min to eat in the sit-downs. 3 of us ended up at Quiznos.

No food, but Bass Pro Shops is right there off the 15. Lots of toys in there.

Do you know how to set up a search on Autotrader so that it alerts you when a car becomes available? My mom's Subaru was super hard to find and that's how I finally managed to track one down.

BADDASSC6 06-28-2010 08:30 PM

Hmmm. I may make it.

dmark101 06-28-2010 11:06 PM

july 10th eh? i might be able to come out for this one and bring the cobra this time. :)

there are literally a TON of places to eat in rancho cucamonga and near ontario mills. if you pick a restaurant, just be wary of the wait and the added gratuity. :p

FAsnakes 06-29-2010 12:18 PM

in.. :drink:

kdracer73 06-29-2010 01:54 PM

jedhead 06-30-2010 05:48 PM

Sonic03SVT 07-05-2010 05:18 PM

I'll be there, call it the Z's first official canyon run (been doing unofficial ones to work all week :P ) And Bass Pro actually DOES have food, if youre talking about the one right off the 15...Really nice restaurant attached there, in fact.

Slow_HO_Daytona 07-06-2010 02:22 AM

I think I just might be able to make it....

OC4g63 07-08-2010 07:39 AM

Well I'm 50/50 at the momonet. I have to work that day but my customer is like 20 miles away so I may just bring the talon to the job site and work my ass off so I can get to the meeting spot asap...ill keep my fingers crossed but I plan to be there.

blumnday99 07-08-2010 12:44 PM

I'll be there. Haven't been to a Motorgen thing in a loooong time!

94cobra69ss396 07-08-2010 04:06 PM

Confirmed, I'll be there.

I was gonna ask the same thing. I must confess a curiosity of eating at Bass Pros.

Do they have ammo? You could stock up for the 24th !

I do believe they do. But heck, I ain't armed, I just shoot my mouth off. :smack: I'll need to borrow/rent a weapon for the 24th. I was thinking about getting a Sig 522LR (pretty cheap and cool looking too) but I'm pouring what spare cash I have into the Project car and my wife will probably wig out if I pick up another hobby.

PS I'm looking at going outdoors at Prado for the 24th. Much closer to the beach areas than Lytle Creek. The Firing Line doesn't take reservations and looks like they fill up on Saturdays pretty fast.

BRUTAL64 07-09-2010 03:50 PM

drive time from OC to starting point?

From HB? Solid 75-90 minutes I would think. Traffic could monkey that up pretty good.

Our Corvette club(Corvette Super Sports) goes to Prado monthly and we'll be there on the 24th in the AM. Let me know what time your thinking of getting there and I'll let the people at Prado know that Motogen is part of our "extended group" than theres no waiting.

When you say AM, what do you mean. :smack:

That might be cool, Motorgen peeps + CSS. BTW, is it pretty available or does it fill up? I want to lock this down and do it somewhere in the OC. I was thinking afternoon, then head to the beach.

SeanPlunk 07-09-2010 04:41 PM

For dinner tomorrow, I'm thinking of the Fuddruckers at Ontario Mills. I've had a hell of a time finding a suitable place near Wrightwood. This is also Alexis' first week back at work and I've been with Jack by myself all week. It's amazing how much time it takes - I haven't been online much at all :(

It's been a great education though so far (two weeks left).

SeanPlunk 07-09-2010 04:41 PM

The address for the Fuddruckers is:

4423 Mills Circle, Ontario, CA

The lot looks big on google maps. Anyone know the area?

Fudd's doesn't sell ammo, but they do have pretty good burgers. I think that'd be just fine. :drink:

We get there between 8:30-9:30am. It fills up sometimes but let me know what time your thinking of getting there and I'll let the people at Prado know that Motogen is part of our "extended group" than theres no waiting.

Mmm, I was thinking something like 2:00ish for a couple hours then off to the beach for some time under the sun til sunset for example.
