I already chatted with Brian about this. I propose a day trip through the Angeles Crest Forest.

Map of possible route??

Any rest stops on the way??

Where does the route dump you so I research places to eat?

Ignore the part about sections being closed. To my knowledge it is all fresh, new and beautiful. There is not much to stop at accept a cafe somewhere in the middle. There are scenic overlooks and stuff though. It's not terribly far from North OC. I have some biker friends that LOVE it.

Leedom 06-17-2008 10:36 AM

That seems like it would be a fun drive. I am up for it.

Sonic03SVT 06-17-2008 02:37 PM

Im all for it, lets get this goin!

Vettezuki 06-17-2008 03:35 PM

How about late July? Plenty of time to put something together.

How about Saturday July 26th. The two weekends before are Street legal drags....the only thing happening the 26th is PSCA both days and if we decide to head out to PSCA, the finals are on Sunday.

This is a good candidate, but I think there's a local corvette cruise on 26,27 now that I think about it that Glenn (and maybe others) will be going to. Maybe the following weekend, August 2 or 3.

Thoughts?

Those dates sound better but is it going to be hotter than hell? Will we have any overheaters?

Sure, I don't know if I can do the Bird Fest II two dayer. Cost of gas and shit.

Vettezuki 06-25-2008 03:10 PM

I'm going to test our run, but I'm pretty sure it'd work out to less than 200 miles for everyone including traveling from home if they're in the OC.

200 hundred miles? How about just 20 miles round trip. Let see 200 miles is going to be about 65 dollars in gas. Not that I'm counting.

OK, work on the 200 miles. How about Carbon Cayon at 3:00 in the morning?:judge:

Yeah, but that's $65 for a day of joy . . . not bad.

I'm sure there'll be open seats for anyone who just wants to ride along too. Personally, I enjoy driving by myself . . . it's quality think time.

Glenn, if I am going to have to see you naked then I am not going. I must say I do like driving with a good looking chick next to me or hell they can even have their head in my lap if they so desire!!:creepy_thumbsup:

Sonic03SVT 06-27-2008 01:05 AM

Carbon canyon? - i drive that 4 times a week :P How about Ortega Highway at 3 AM...ya pansies

Vettezuki 06-27-2008 01:42 AM

Okay, I'm going to take the lead on this event. I'll do a test run soon to make sure it's what I think it is. I have some biker friends who run it all the time. Maybe I'll do it this Saturday if anyone wants to cruise along with me.

It is open to anyone and everyone, if it rolls, bring it.

Here is the event in the Calendar.

Let's make this first Motorgen organized event a flaming success. What better way to celebrate Summer and High Gas Prices?

Here's my first post on this run.

No, I will not get naked for you.:leaving:

Vettezuki 07-12-2008 05:05 AM

Howdy boys and girls. The wife and I did a test run on the 4th of July. A mighty fine run if I do say myself. What's that . . . you wanna know what it's going to be like? Fine, here's a video.

gunfish 07-12-2008 08:37 AM

Dammit....you used one of my favorite songs of all time!

My first choice was actually "The Weight" - The Band, but didn't want to transcode from the new Real Player format, which was all I could get it in easily. I put the same video on our My Space page and actually got my knuckles wrapped for Copyright infringement. Booh.

st-evo-9*corn fed-8urvet* 07-23-2008 10:05 PM

st-evo-9*corn fed-8urvet* 07-23-2008 10:12 PM

oh great neptunes triton!!! if i when imma have to meet u guys on the 210 somewhere. b/c if i meet u guys at the meeting spot i would just be making a huge circle and coming back to the 210 which i live off of!!!

hey y dont u guys do an azuza mountain run its great and close as hell to me :-) and u guys would only have to take the 210 E instead of west and get off on azuza *which is a pretty intense run* and it drops u off perfectly on the 210 and mountain :-) lol

We'll stick to this run this time but we can certainly do an Azusa run later. I'll be sticking to the departure schedule pretty strict so we should intersect the 210 at 11:00 am. PM your cell and if you decide to go we can attempt an in flight rendezvous . . . that should be interesting. :smack:

Hells ya it's still happening. I even reserved the Chilao room at Newcomb's very posh. Ok, not so posh, but it is reserved. There's only 11 registered on the event:

http://www.motorgen.com/forum/calend...y=2008-8-2&c=1

But we expect more from other places, and to even pick some up as we roll. Bring all your Mopar pals.

PM me with your cell and I'll give you a heads up as roll near. We should be at the 210 and Hwy 2 at 11:15 am +- 5 minutes. I can call you when we're at the 210. We'll be about 12-15 minutes out at that point.

Even though we only have 11 on here, I expect between 20-30 total. A lot of peole are expressing interest through the other boards I posted this on.

Vettezuki 07-28-2008 05:24 PM

I'm excited to see if we can pull off our-in flight rendezvous. There are already 3 coming from different parts of SoCal.

Meanchicken 07-29-2008 10:48 AM

New guy.
I'll be there either in a 68 Camaro or an 87 GN:thumbs_up:
