Its fuzzy, i forgot to wipe off the lens. I'll take another tomorrow.

Jammer89 02-14-2012 08:56 AM

Those are really nice. Have you put them in the car to see how they look?

Shaolin Crane 02-14-2012 08:59 AM

Car is wrapped up cause the cats keep peeing inside of it. So i'll unwrap it to clean the carpet and likely put them in after paint.

Shaolin Crane 02-14-2012 09:05 AM

Here is a thread from the corral, i have seen them in person in a matching interior and it just works. the shape fits a fox better then sn95 seats IMO

Shaolin Crane 02-20-2012 09:56 AM

So I have acquired/ordered the following
90mm LMAF
UPR Boostmaster ($99 New from UPR)
340lph Fuel Pump

Also dropped off the car at my buddy's shop so we can finish it there before taking it to the paint booth. Should be about 2 weeks until its finished.

Just need a filter, adjustable fpr, and a maxflow bypass and things are on.

Shaolin Crane 02-27-2012 05:50 PM

Goodies came today

The maxflow bypass valve is also on its way. Paint will be completed shortly, just need the rear extension pieces for the bumper.

Damian 02-27-2012 09:23 PM

That looks like a small nipple for the BOV.

Shaolin Crane 02-27-2012 09:30 PM

Its a 1". But wont be used since its the wrong placement for high boost applications.

Shaolin Crane 03-02-2012 09:02 AM

Look what finally came in. Once color is layed assembly can begin. If i can get rid of my truck soon, it'll get tuned, rims and brakes plus interior just in time for knotts.

Chuck 03-02-2012 01:11 PM

Cool, you should be ready for the May nicks meet.

Shaolin Crane 03-02-2012 01:38 PM

Plan is to have it ready(ish) for Knotts in April, we'll see how the truck sale goes.

Shaolin Crane 03-02-2012 01:41 PM

Guess I missed these
Sealed the header panel for better appearance

Header Panel attached and ready for body work

fiveohwblow 03-02-2012 04:31 PM

When I put in my last header panel, wait last two, and was doing paint I didn't seal them. Never thought of it and I should have. Good move.

Shaolin Crane 03-03-2012 11:41 AM

Yeah, this one was pretty horrid looking. So i sprayed it with brake clean and the old paint just ran off. So i scuffed it and sealed it. Looks much better.

Shaolin Crane 03-09-2012 09:17 PM

Lookie lookie...

fiveohwblow 03-09-2012 09:30 PM

*looking*

Shaolin Crane 03-09-2012 09:42 PM

Primer and blocking happens this weekend...

Shaolin Crane 03-10-2012 12:48 AM

The brand of hood is a harwood. By far my favorite shape, here is a similar one

Shaolin Crane 03-12-2012 12:51 AM

So I hear the car was primed today. I'm going down there tomorrow to take pics.

Hopefully next weekend(23rd) its ready for color. If that happens, it'll take me about a day to re-assemble it and get it fired. Keep checking in.

Shaolin Crane 03-12-2012 05:58 PM

Went to look at it today, but forgot to take pics since i was in pain. But it looks great. I'm excited.

fiveohwblow 03-13-2012 06:25 AM

Nice!

blackax 03-13-2012 08:20 AM

Wow this project is getting done!

Shaolin Crane 03-13-2012 09:49 AM

Lets hope so, i'm still a bit short for supplies. I need another $350 for clear and $200 for the booth rental. But i should be able to make it happen.

$350 for clear? HOK?

Shaolin Crane 03-13-2012 10:57 PM

IIRC its the EC700 clear from PPG. Back to back clear that sands like pixy dust and once fully hardened is like glass and shines as such. Probably the best clear made by PPG.

Nice!

Shaolin Crane 03-14-2012 08:42 AM

Yeah, its kinda the only clear that can be used envirobase. Not a bad thing, just gotta stick to one paint system. I want to show people that waterbourne isnt as bad as people spout off to be. Mainly cause no one has used it or seen anything done with it.

Well there are a few reasons for that IMO. Most don't have the proper environment for it, so it's easy to claim its bad cause they will more than likely not use it. Second, only your damned state mandates it lol, and lastly it's just as good, but the dry times/requirements almost add a step. Painters mock it for good reasons, but being someone that paints its something I'd like to try.

Waterborne is what all auto manufacturers use now. It also drys faster then lacquer, not sure where you heard it takes longer. It has a 15 min flash time, the clear, like all clears is what takes a while to properly harden, even so, when we sprayed the bay, it was 80% hardened in the first 30 minutes. It was a different clear, but that's pretty damn impressive IMO

Shaolin Crane 03-15-2012 09:44 PM

Agenda for this weekend, finish all my fucking powder coating. I have a bunch of stuff of my own as well as other peoples. Once that stuff is finished i'll officially have a turn key engine.

Paint is well under way to completion, I cant wait.

Damian 03-15-2012 11:01 PM

Hurry up and get that stuff done already!

Shaolin Crane 03-19-2012 12:40 AM

Damian 03-19-2012 08:16 AM

Hopefully you wont scratch anything when you put it in the car like I did.

Shaolin Crane 03-19-2012 09:13 AM

I'm not worried about it. I've gotten pretty good at installing engines, as long as you know you're inevitibily going to scratch something, you'll be less irritated about it.

94cobra69ss396 03-19-2012 10:17 AM

What are you doing, you left one black!

Shaolin Crane 03-19-2012 10:26 AM

I know, it bothers me too, but the compressor pulley will also be black, no way of safely baking the magnet to color it silver. So for now, they'll both be black.

Shaolin Crane 03-19-2012 05:08 PM

working on making the a/c components presentable

Shaolin Crane 03-19-2012 05:09 PM

First pic the top one is the one that came off the car originally. The bottom one is a nicer one that I painted. Tomorrow i'll seal them with some clear.
