The bore is larger than a 454 BBC (actually the same on both the 460 and 429) so you can put bigger valves in the BBF than the BBC. :pot_stir:

You can Ford vs Chevy trash talk all you want. But look at a SBC vs a SBF without looking at the dist hole and I can't tell the difference.

Camaros have been consistently faster than Mustangs, but a mild cam will fix that. Car manufacturers really just get you started, how fast you are is up to you... Look at my 185hp Corvette.

I am not trash talking:sm_laughing:. I've build just about any comb of BBC and BBF in the 70's - 80's that was possible then. Both have good points and bad points.

Yea, your "185 hp" Chevy is a very good point.:drink:

Now that after market heads have leveled the playing field, BBC or BBF both can make unGodly power.:judge:

Haha, the motor's been rebuilt already. I have 7 smoke colored pistons and a new shiny one. Also a new set of stainless rings. Decided to stay away from moly in case I ping again.

To all who posted, just wanted to let you know that I am now the proud owner on a BBF 429 motor. Now the fun begins.

Maybe in another year or 2 we will have it in the car, unless he wins the lottery.

Going off memory, the 429 didn't need much did it?

Intake
Carb
Dizzy
Plugs
Wires
Headers

Don't forget the Cerittos (I think) swap meet. You might be able to pick all this up in the <=500$ range.

Dizzy?? You can't beat an MSD streetfire for the $$. No way, no how. $150.00, and I'll curve it for ya.
