Just an FYI, we have acid at the shop, its what i use to renovate rusty hardware. Dunk, pull, wash done.

I've been doing a lot of sanding lately. I don't have the money to have the paint/body work done right now so I'm just taking the rusted sections down to bare metal, spraying them with an etching primer and then with gloss white Rustoleum. The rest I'm just roughing up the paint and spraying over it. Here is what I've done so far.

You can follow up with regular primer after the etching primer. I would even use white, this way you wont spend twice as much in sandpaper getting the rustoleom off when it comes time for paint.

I worked on it this weekend again. I finished sanding the cowl, A pilars and window frame. Next up will be the doors or the cab, I'm not sure which. Here are some more pictures.

How's the DA working?

Great, I hope you don't mind me using it but it is saving me a ton of time.

Not at all. It's kinda mandatory for the work you're doing. Harbor freight now sells the da sand paper rollsfor about $10. Incase I didnt have any in that box I gave you.

This weekend I finished pulling the engine on the Cobra and disassembled it and then pulled the engine and trans out of the F100. Next I'm going to clean up the engine bay and paint it black. Once that's done it'll will be time to measure for the BBC and make motor mounts.

There are a lot of folks that will pay good money for that old y block. I know I probably would have if I had my old 59 still
