Just curious though, how would a BOV operate since diesels dont make vacuum

So I found that the boost hose had slipped off of my intercooler. Ive been driving like that since I bought it. Put it back on and its not any faster... which tells me the computer must be limiting the crap out of the turbo. I can see why it makes another 100 horsepower with a tune.

Your engine should have a vaccum pump which would operate the BOV.

Vacuum pump pulls vacuum constantly, it wouldnt know when I was letting off the throttle

They do, since generally it's serpentine controlled. The wasted gate on my turbo is vacuum controlled and operates just fine.

But its still pulling enough vacuum to operate the brakes, thus, too much vacuum for a BOV to open.

Maybe your diesel has a throttle plate

Shaolin Crane 05-04-2013 04:31 PM

Nope. Speed density drive by wire.

Ya mine doesnt either, the Liberty diesels do, strange.
