Has a whole second house that was framed out by crack heads as far as I can tell (tons of building materials to be reclaimed), and was pretty much abandoned. It does however, have the best view of any house I've ever been at just about ever. Pretty much all the way from Corona on past Riverside, pretty high unobstructed elevation. I've seen it at night and day and it's stunning. Five acres, though probably only about 1 usable in present form, the rest is on a rough slope. The main house is pretty decent in construction, but a little trashed from the previous occupants. Distance from work kind of sucks at 43 miles (solid hour), but the view alone is just spectacular. Tempted even as a kind of investment. If I turn out to utterly hate the drive, I can sell in a couple years. It was foreclosed and needs to be cleaned up quite a lot. Bank is asking mid 300s, but the last time it sold in 08 (yess, boom) was pushing 800. I wouldn't expect that kind of upside, but it oght to have at least a couple hundred g with some TLC and a little time. Mmmm.

Aren't you moving further away from Chanukah?

I think you should keep your current house if you can and rent it out. Income should be damn near your mortgage payment.

That place up in Gavlin Hills had way too many legal troubles attached to it. Looking for something in Chino Hills, where our business is, so that my wife who works long hours six days a week can cut her commute to nil. I've thought of keeping the Fullerton House and renting, but I want to pay a large debt to family that we used to start the business, after which I should have a fair chunk of scratch left over to either liquidate one remaining debt, or invest elsewhere, I've been thinking of a part equity ownership in a franchise with some friends, like a Flame Broiler or a place that looks like it might start being a franchise.

Nice! Sleeping with the scheduling guy finally paid off!

Shaolin Crane 02-12-2013 11:16 PM

I applied on the 8th of january and was told i'd have a testing date within 10 days and my testing date is the 23rd of this month. CHP has a counting problem. I'm not as excited about CHP as I am about LASD but an LEO position is what i'm made for so I go where is open.

Being a musician has its perks at times. Money is very rarely one of them though. . .

Vettezuki 02-14-2013 10:45 PM

BTW, we're apparently being invaded by aliens.

Shaolin Crane 02-15-2013 12:16 AM

Shaolin Crane 02-22-2013 12:26 AM

Well, it's official. I'm a college freshman :/

Vettezuki 02-22-2013 01:10 AM

Couple basic rules for college success.

Know why you're there.
Focus one quarter/semester at a time.
Realize jumping through hoops is just a means to an end.

Shaolin Crane 02-22-2013 08:39 AM

You missed one
Find hot chicks who obviously study more then you and implore their help.

...So that you can use then vs than correctly in your English papers :P

enkeivette 02-22-2013 09:29 AM

Speaking of being snub, 90% of the paralegals out there piss me off. They have self-esteem issues (maybe because theyre not attorneys?) so they love making little fucking comments to put us down in an attempt to boost their own ego.

Newsflash paralegals, youre not more educated than lawyers, so dont act like it. Idiots can make it through paralegal school, they cant make it through the bar. You dont know the law, you cant give legal advice, and you cant sign off on shit. Im sorry if you youre not happy with your life choices, but dont take it out on us, and know your place. Fuck.

enkeivette 02-22-2013 09:36 AM

For those other 10%... you are essential to the smooth functioning of a law practice. And if youre not making little snub comments like that, you probably dont have self-esteem issues, and thus are more intelligent than those other 90% of paralegals out there... and do probably have what it takes to pass the bar. So thank you for your service... AND your self-confidence.
