I'll be there, hopefully getting a much needed tire rotation beforehand.

94cobra69ss396 12-08-2010 09:38 AM

I'll be there too.

This will be my first time out to the canyons with the new suspension setup this whole year...So It'll be more of a learning and testing day more than anything--that and I've never been to GMR.

I look forward to the nice cruise. :D

Vettezuki 12-08-2010 11:36 PM

Sadly I'm out. :( You kids have fun.

blumnday99 12-09-2010 08:22 AM

I'll be there.

Leedom 12-09-2010 12:01 PM

I should be there but I will probably not stop in the middle. I have a company X-mas party at 6 and have to drive all the way back to South OC from GMR so time will be tight.

Gonna miss dinner which suck because I love that place.

RiSSa 12-09-2010 03:11 PM

Will there be good oppurtunities to stop and take pics? Or are we just rolilng right through?

mustangray 12-09-2010 03:34 PM

Unfortunatly not going to make it this time

We always stop roughly in the middle at a mountain lookout where the road opens up a bit. It's a good hang. Leedom has to continue on through due to other commitments, but the group always stops.

I bought a new camera mount but had to make a peice for it to work. I did some testing today so that it would be ready for this weekend. It still shakes just a bit but this is the best I can get it. What do you think?

good positioning. Plus you get good sound vs wind noise

any pictures of the mount in the car?

Mount looks fine, steadier than 90% of the in car videos you see on youtube. I'd like to pick up a new camera and mount myself. But my suspension is so stiff it doesnt make a difference. It will always shake.

Which card is yours? The one with the midget porn? I won't be home, but I'll leave it in the truck along with the mount.

Also, I leave 100 rounds of 45 in there. Those are for Guy (Shaolin Crane). He will give you a media tumbler and media in exchange.

I bought this mount thinking it was like the one Ben has but it isn't. I had to make an extra braket to mount the camera.

This is the one Ben has.

Yes the 8GB SD card with the midget porn. The things I hold on to for Sean.

I will grab the ammo as well.

I wont be able to with my company Chirstmas party being in Ontario at 5pm. however classy wearing a suit in the car would be... it'd get ruined, haha

Difm 12-11-2010 02:41 AM

Im in on this one too :0

club sport z 12-11-2010 10:42 AM

Sorry guys gotta bail on you. I hope to see you in the new year.

SeanPlunk 12-11-2010 08:37 PM

Had a great time today. We had over 55 cars! Great turnout. We had the little blemish with Adam getting into that accident with that motorcycle, but otherwise good times :)

10yearrx7 12-11-2010 09:14 PM

Very fun run. It sucked I did not have my car but riding passenger was not to bad.

cartwheels4amile 12-11-2010 09:46 PM

That was fantastic. Thanks for a great time everyone, hope to see you all next year and do some more runs.

shutter 12-11-2010 10:19 PM

shutter 12-11-2010 10:21 PM

I started a new thread here for that stuff. We'll hopefully have the video cut in a day or two.

This one didn't go that great for me. It started when I got a call from Guy that his upper radiator hose blew up. Luckily I had Eric's (sorry Eric, I'll buy you a new one) here since we pulled his engine at my house. Then as we started the run his car started to get hot so we just cruised so he could keep the rpms under 3000. Then we missed the left onto Glendora Ridge Rd and ended up at the Mt. Baldy ski lift. On the way back down a couple cars got between Guy and I and I lost him as we made the turn onto Glendora Ridge Rd. Then to top it off my youngest daughter got car sick 3 times that we had to pull over so I only did 35mph the entire way back down the mountain. At least I got a couple of good pictures.

I'm sorry to hear that. It really is a great road. Maybe next time you can fly solo inside the group. It is a little more hair raising than other runs at points. One is wise not to push too much, but enjoy a more moderate pace.

Sorry dude. I feel terrible but I do really appreciate the help. I didnt get lost though i decided to cut it short and just hop back on the freeway. I went back and got my truck and pulled into the parking lot seconds before the first group did. We waited till you came down and saw you drive by but you didnt stop so we headed out. Thanks again, this has just motivated me further to finish the new engine. Next time out EVERYTHING will be new and shouldnt have any more issues. And you can tell Eric his hose will be in on monday

Anyhow my side of the story is just as bad. After we fixed the hose the car just kept climbing in temperature, i cruised down the hill to clairmont and kept the temps around 170, until i got back on the freeway and it jumped to 220-230 again. During the cruise back after missing the turn the cars IAC took a shit, so any time i let off the gas it would die and i would have to downshift to keep it running. Then i blew out my header gasket and the car was popping and what not the rest of the drive. Just alot of little things that happened all at once further pushing for the 347 i have in the shop.

Ben did you get my text?

10yearrx7 12-12-2010 11:52 AM

I am still wondering about thae guy in the 180sx. His back caliper came off as we got to the half way point and we tried to help but then everyone started getting in there cars so we did to because we did not want to get lost. Hopefully everything turned out ok.

DarkestSpade 12-12-2010 12:24 PM

Wish I could have been there longer.
My dad came down from Yosemite to hang out with me and I wanted him to tag along. We had started to change my brake rotors and pads before the run at about 10AM. Long story short and many trips to autozone we finished at about 4PM and made it there while you all stopped at the top and drove down with you all.

I had fun. I was hanging towards the back most of the time (my friend's DeLorean is a little underpowered), but that left me lots of room to play around a little.

I wonder where we should go next month?

We're doing Palomar Mountain in January. If I harass my partners enough, there might even be a post and banner about it within 48 hours of the event. :smack:
