What about making the stops burger joints? Since its not a race we can choose 5 burger places(or any restaurant really) and if someone is hungry they can easily go inside and grab some grub. If they dont fancy it they move on to the next place. Then plan the route between the places chosen. :huh:

Good idea. Though I'm not sure how a station would work in an environment like that? Out in the parking lot? It's a bit of a problem of a parking Nazi asks the person to leave.

However, how about some mixed.

1) Kohl's at base of Ortega run. -> Ortega
2) Fudruckers in South County ->
3) 5 Guys in Orange ->
4) Starbuck's on Beach Blvd. ->
5) Nick's Fullerton

I'd be confident about 1, 4, 5 of not being any problem.

I suppose stations could be setup at parks that are along the food routes

At least it is not real far.
On the run, what kind of cash are we talking about. I've never done one.

Something like $20 buy in. Winning hand takes half of pot, so figure number of entrants x $10. Your odds of winning are 1/number of entrants.

Wouldnt odds of winning still be the odds of winning in poker? Shouldnt really matter how many peopl

IF you just get the five card hand you're dealt (my understanding of how these work) and IF winner take all, then it is literally luck of the draw, top hand wins. Everyone has an equal (random) chance at the top hand. By definition, that means 1/number of entrants. I suppose if there were several decks, there's a remote chance of tie for top hand.
