Yes, it's an abrasive. Yes, it sands down your clear coat. Yes, if you run the buffer over a corner you can quickly sand off all of the clear coat.

You never run a buffer over an edge. Who sees an edge?

Sean get the Flex XC3401 it has a lot more power than either the PC and Megs so once you feel comfortable you can use more aggressive polish and pads to achieve better paint correction.

Nice. But people laughed at my car when it was primered too. Now it's a sexy bitch.

I'm with Glenn, $300 for something that spins a buffing pad is about 10x too much.
