I've actually talked to the manufacture of the Accusump, they claim it works as stated. Never talked to anyone that has had one, but if it does as claimed, it is worth it.

I had a friend with one on his 240Z autocrosser back in the late 70's. It seem to work well. The pre-oiling feature should help durabilty since most of the engine wear is startup.

Cost growth. So before a wrench is turned it looks like the new estimate is $15K. There are just so many little parts and virtually nothing is re-usable.:barf:

So the "LS" family is not actually a family?? Sad:rolleyes:

You're getting into pretty serious money territory here. Almost sounds like you could have a DART Block/ LSX build for that kind of scratch. . .

I'm sure they could reuse stuff. But you're spending so much anyways might as well start fresh and get a new engine.

Ask for all the old pieces, check them out and E-Bay the good ones individually. Pick a few of the rest for souvenirs.

Hell, get an LS-9 crate, and do it yourself.

Some stuff is reusable some is not because of the aftermarket bits and LS3 changes. I'm going to strip down the block and sell what id still usable. I'm hoping that I can find a shop that will be willing to work on the heads.

I'm shocked that the cadillac LS9 is ~$15K, but the zr1 is ~$23K.

The Cadillac version is the LSA and doesn't have forged pistons.
