Wow, those are available to consumers already? Does it record in 720 or 1080?

What's the destination format?

It's native HD up to 60fs. It's a large 1/3" CMOS sensor, up to 50mpbs internal with MPEG2, could go up 200mpbs through the SDI output. 4:2:2. color sampling, etc. It's good enough to shoot documentaries on, broadcast, etc. There are still many levels above this for full scale commercial film production, where it really starts to be about $60k lenses, but this is exceptional quality at this price point.

With skilled shooting and post production, easily good enough to see on tv for many things.

But when you see stuff like BBC's Planet Earth. Yeah. Those cameras and setups are a bit more. :judge:

Oh I see, Im guessing the high end cameras arent rated in pixels? Its more technical?

That's just part of it. There is a lot more to it.

I dont believe that for a second. A blue ray disc has about 50 gigs worth of storage, how much memory does your phone have?

8 Gig plus the 16gig sd card. A 20 second video is roughly 8m.b

According to you (compression on your system) an hour video would be about 1.5 GB. You have 8+16 = 24GB total. You, sir, suck fat one and get it done.

Vettezuki 05-09-2013 04:14 PM

Take the video quality (comp setting) and resolution down and that will be just a few hundred MBs.
