Are you done yet? It's been 30 minutes. That's 30 opportunities to get it handled.

Shaolin Crane 09-26-2012 11:15 PM

Finishing the msd wiring now. Then gonna button up the boost sensor and vacuum lines and re-install the exhaust. I'm finishing this bitch tonight.

Shaolin Crane 09-27-2012 02:34 AM

Got the MSD in and on the last fucking wire i ran out. So tomorrow i'll have to grab some more. Just put in the bassani catted x-pipe and what a horrendous piece of shit. Hangers dont even come close to lining up, they barely mate to the headers and will probably leak something fierce. If I was under the gun i'd redo everything but for now its in and that's all that matters. When I get it back from tuning i'll go back over the entire car.

Btw, still here working. Gonna hang the mufflers and see how close I eyeballed them.

heypal 09-27-2012 06:44 PM

How did it work out last night/this morning?

Shaolin Crane 09-27-2012 10:41 PM

Everything was going great until I fried the EEC for being and idiot.

heypal 09-30-2012 02:43 PM

...wth man

Shaolin Crane 09-30-2012 04:56 PM

Guy, you need to update this thread on all the goodness that came on dyno day! I'll give a hint after we towed his car out there and spent 4 hours at Powertrain Dynamics we still don't have any power numbers.

87LX 10-02-2012 01:55 PM

did you overpower the dyno???

Shaolin Crane 10-02-2012 03:27 PM

Yep, I broke steves dyno because it just couldnt register the powa it was making.

THATS WHAT I AM FUCKING TALKING ABOUT!!!!!!

Shaolin Crane 10-07-2012 10:34 PM

So I grabbed a new LMAF. Hopefully this one is good. I'm going to toss it on tomorrow to check it out. Then i'll calibrate the wideband in an attempt to not have to purchase a new sensor. Got the final piece of the ground effects finally as well. I'm going to button up all the crap that the front bumper covers and then put everything on the car.

Finally all that's left will be fitting the seats into the car and doing the 5 lug stuff.

Scored a BNIB MM Torque arm and PHB kit for 400. I dont need the panhard bar so i'll be selling it cheap since I really dont have the money for it :(

Shaolin Crane 10-19-2012 12:09 AM

Fucker ended up selling the parts out from under me, so i was a little bummed out but oh well.
Yanked this a week ago and havnt taken pics of all the prep work I did but I will.

Shaolin Crane 10-23-2012 05:51 AM

Since I still cant sleep. I'll update this now.

Today I was on a fucking roll. Finally got the races off the carrier and rebuilt it with the fancy carbon fiber clutches.

Also painted the rear rotors and got rebuild kits for the calipers

Over the weekend Jamie came by and welded up the tubes for me after scrubbing the fuck out of the housing, sadly I cant find pics of all the fun I went through tearing it apart

Also got the ends bearings and seals in

The glorious bad boys waiting to go in

Also took the opportunity of the axle being out to install the panhard mount

Tomorrow Ron is coming down to help with the gear install then I'll finish assembling the axle and brakes then bolt this fucker back in.
Here it sits

Shaolin Crane 10-26-2012 12:02 AM

Rebuilt the calipers, new bracket hardware, new brake lines, cut and shortened the fox lines and changed the fittings to the new metric sizes.

I'm picking up my shim kit tomorrow and i'll need to get with Ron with getting this thing shimmed up. I REALLY want to put it in this weekend. If I cant get with him i'll do the feeler gauge method and slam it together.

Shaolin Crane 10-28-2012 11:10 PM

Finished the gear install, it's been about 7 years since I last did one so I'm hoping it's done sufficiently. Everything checked out so i'm pretty confident in it. Also finished the brakes, axle shafts, and all the other crap along with replacing everything. Fluids and the like.

Then installed it into the car

Unfortunately I forgot to pick up the open ended lug nuts so I just lowered the car down to see the wheel fitment. They fit perfect.

Tomorrow i'll take better pics of the post install

94cobra69ss396 10-29-2012 06:36 AM

Looks good.

Shaolin Crane 10-31-2012 08:50 AM

Thanks. I finished the front 5 lug just as the sun went down, then it occured to me I need to finish as much work that requires me to be outside with the car as soon as possible before daylights savings time ends, once it does my after work explorations will suck. Anyways. here's the good stuff.

enkeivette 11-07-2012 11:58 PM

Ohh pretty axle. Is that just a painted stock 8.8? Knowing you and that car I don't see you writing Currie a check for $2500, haha

Shaolin Crane 11-08-2012 03:40 AM

Not quite stock, forged 31sp axles, welded tubes, carbon fiber clutches in the posi and arp studs. should hold 650rwhp no problem.

Shaolin Crane 11-29-2012 10:15 AM

Little update. Dropped $600 to get her current with CA. This weekend I hope to finish the body. Maybe the interior depending on time. I've misplaced a few items that is going to hinder me some with the body panels. Interior is essentially "done" just some tedious sewing and bracket making. Stay tuned.

Shaolin Crane 11-29-2012 09:54 PM

Got around to putting back on the front bumper cover. Or at least trying to, i'm not sure what changed since the first time I fitted the heat exchanger to now but it doesn't fit worth a shit. I had to remove the bumper just to get the cover on. Tomorrow i'll fuck with spacing the bracket and see if I cant get it to mount the right way.

Vettezuki 11-29-2012 11:43 PM

You make me almost like Fox Bodies.

Almost.

Shaolin Crane 11-30-2012 08:37 AM

Give it time, once it's finished I have a feeling you'll change your mind.

enkeivette 11-30-2012 09:16 AM

I like everything about your fox body, except for the body :p

enkeivette 11-30-2012 09:17 AM

Ok maybe Id trade you hoods... :)

Shaolin Crane 11-30-2012 10:41 AM

If that was possible i'd take you up on that. I'm not the biggest fan of the hood right now. Kinda fits like shit.

Shaolin Crane 11-30-2012 10:42 AM

Yep, thats usually how it goes. The beauty is in the function, not so much the form. Plenty of other mustangs that look better in my book. But i'm addicted to them and I don't know why.

94cobra69ss396 11-30-2012 10:43 AM

Kinda? The Grand Canyon has less gap.

Shaolin Crane 11-30-2012 11:17 AM

I'm not even talking about the gaps, the front of the hood nearest the bumper touches when it's open. I don't know what i'm gonna do to fit it. I know the bumper cover isn't on properly either but damn.

Shaolin Crane 12-03-2012 05:54 PM

So I got it to fit the best I could since I cut most of the supports out to fit the heat exchanger. I'm going to make some adjustable bars the pull the cover down to space the hood properly. If not, i'll have to dump the stock latch and just use the hood pins.

Also mounted the rest of the front ground effects, still need to find the rear brace for the back bumper so I can mount it.
Here are the pics, don't know what the vibrancy goes to shit when I upload but here ya go.

enkeivette 12-04-2012 03:09 AM

Lookin sick holmey G!

94cobra69ss396 12-04-2012 06:46 AM

I agree, that looks better than it did.
