After 2 years of trying to finish an endless build of my car... Its almost done. Noticed everyone around here seems to have gone. If there is still some active members, maybe car can organize a cruise this fall.

We're not so much gone as we tend to communicate directly. I'd like to cruise too, so I'll keep it in mind for the coming month or so.

Cool. I figured as much. Some of the threads are pretty old. I saw one of the posts on FB pop up and it reminded me of the group here.
I'm waiting on a few more parts for my V. New Hubs and a new fuel bucket. But after that, should be good to go. Hopefully I can get it done before 2018 haha.

Well it's on the final lap of the build so to speak. The last couple little parts are trickling in still. I had the motor broken in on the engine dyno. It was 652hp and 595 torque at the crank. Its a stroker based on a 6.0 out of a G8 GT. Had 0821 castings (LS3) when I got it. Paid 550 for the motor. Got a dss forged assembly, 4 inch stroker crank and 4.030 pistons. Brian Toomey Racing NA stroker cam, Johnson Link bar lifters, trunnion upgraded stock rockers, LS3 intake valves, .660 dual springs. Heads were ported, 102 fast intake, 102 Nick Williams throttle body, 1000cc FICs (got em for $400), fast rails, volant cold air kit. DW300 in tank pump, -8feed, -6 return, Fuelab external filter and external regulator.
Going to tune it on E85 so I should be looking at 550 hp at the wheels. The torque curve is insane, on the engine dyno It made 500trq+ from 3000rpm to respond which is at 6500rpm right now. Its pretty solid for an NA build I think. Going to mainly flog it in the canyons and road courses like Fontana.

Well, my 3,100lb Vette is only about 400WHP and it's a hoot!

My V weighs like 3900. If I didn't need 4 doors for the kids at the time... I'd be putting this motor in a C5 Z06

652hp/595tq NA is insane! Congrats! I'm only making 500/500 to the wheels with a 347 and a 10psi. I am 400lbs lighter though. I'm in for a cruise as well as soon as I can buy a new harmonic balancer and my foot heals from surgery.

I was very happy. My goal for the motor was 550-600 at the crank. I got a call from the machinist and he said they were swapping to TR6 plugs and were probably going to break the 650hp mark... I was kinda shocked. I had originally intended to do the motor myself. But I dropped it at the shop and had them assemble it and break it in on the engine dyno. I was really happy all the parts I picked were working as intended. Also glad I had them assemble it. The original machinist didn't cut the mains right so they had to be recut. They weren't terrible... But 120 bux to cut them and make 100% sure that everything was perfect seemed like a better idea than getting everything together and spinning a bearing.
The motor is just one part though. The rest of the car is solid too.
LS9 clutch, Katech flywheel, 2 piece driveshaft shop driveshaft, 8.8 Ford iron case swap with 3.73 gears, Ford racing diff, 1000hp axles, upgraded inner and outer CVs, DW300 in tank pump, -8 feed, -6 return, fuelab external filter, fuelab regulator, 1000cc FICs (got an for 400 bux), it's going to be on E85 exclusively, slotted Stoptech rotors, stainless braided brake lines, DOT4, stoptech pads.
Only thing left is suspension... And maybe another set of tires and wheels for track days.

Maybe we can do a Motorgen day at Adam's Motorsports Park one day. I've been dying to go back and see what the Cobra will do now that I did the suspension.

That's essentially what I did with my LS7 but I kept the stock LS7 cam and went with Lingenfelter heads with Ferrea valves.
I'd stay away from E85 though

When are you thinking of doing it. I had foot surgery and don't know when I'll be able to drive again. I still have another two weeks before I'll even be able to stand on it.

I'm down for that, haven't been there in years.

Tried to do it Sunday afternoon, there was a bagillion cars up there. Average speed was about 6 mph.

I'll check my schedule, but if it's not snowy/closed, and it shouldn't be, how about between Christmas and New Year?

Make sure it's not between snows and the roads are rocked by Caltrans. I went up one year and it beat the crap out of my rocker panel plates.

Adam and I did it once and there were fucking boulders falling on the road, had a few softball sized rocks fall on the trunk lid.
