My buddy has a 97 Avenger with a Turbo 4 (420A + Hahn Turbo) and the motor is blowing waaay too much oil out of the crankcase. It pulls 16" of vacuum at idle and it doesn't burn oil so he believes the rings are still good. He bought an oil accumulator from Jegs but it fills up too quickly. He said it would fill up after a quarter mile run just about.
I suggested he plumb the oil from the accumulator back into the oil pan but he thinks there will be too much crankcase pressure for this to work... as this is the problem in the first place. And the accumulator might end up taking oil from both ends.
The valve cover is stock and baffled very well. Could not be improved according to my friend.
Any ideas? Solutions?

Strange problem. Does he have a breather at all?

Any pics of the engine bay? Want to see the PCV system, any mods done recently?

It sounds like he may have a blown head gasket. I had this issue with the Cobra when I first put on the supercharger. I blew the head gasket on the way home from tuning it. It would blow the dip stick tube out under boost and spit oil out the tube on the bottom of the hood. He should do a leak down test.

Id say he did something wrong/didnt do something with the vacuum side if things when he added the turbo.

That's exactly what the Vette was doing on dyno day. Blew the dipstick out. Turned out to be a leaking HG.
This head was warped because it overheated, then it was milled flat again. HG is an MLS. I'll tell him to do the leak down test.
