50 years?! I didn't know it had been around that long.

The history is pretty interesting and goes back further. I'd argue it's the greatest engineering design idea for an engine that never actually panned quite as good as the promise. Still a cool engine. And Mazda might combine with an electric drivetrain for a hybrid, which in some ways would make more sense.
