So Subaru and Toyota have partnered up on a RWD Sports Coupe. It's a 2+2 with (so far anyway) a 2.0l boxer engine supplied by Subaru. Word is though that it could get the STi engine at some point, which would be :hail:
Anyway, based on the render, which version do you think is better looking?

I think they are both good looking cars, but I'd take the Subie. If they made one with the STi engine for around 30k, that would be a hell of a car :)

Honestly, thats a tough one. Im not going to vote until the final product from Subaru comes out.

Based on those, the Subie, for sure.

Like them both but the rendering of the Subie has more character as far as I am concerned. Toyota is to smooth.

Since when are you afraid to take a stand?

I need valid comparative information to employee my spectacular capacity for rational thought. :nutkick: That's a speculative rendering vs. a photograph of a concept car.
But truthfully, even just guessing what they might realistically end up like, I don't think I'd have a strong feeling one way or another; they're just flavors of the same concept. Depending on my mood I might break towards the Subie (boy racer) or Toyota, a bit more "adult" looking.

I have a hard time swallowing the idea that Subaru will field a RWD car. I can see the AWD Subie and the 2WD Toyota. That is why I think the Toyota would be better.

That is definitely possible. I thought I read somewhere though that it would be difficult to fit the AWD system into that chasis?

This is a potential sticking point. The platform does not seem well suited to Subie's AWD but that's their trademark. . . These companies also don't totally trust each other and are a little hesitant to share core technology, especially Subaru with Toyota (Fuji Heavy Industries).
As for me, systematically speaking, I'd probably prefer the lighter RWD Toyota as a car. Stylistically I could probably go either way.

Yeah, if one is RWD and one is AWD, I'd probably opt for the RWD one depending on what the weight difference was.

Not only the wieght, but the drivetrain losses. ALso does this car make enough power to warrant AWD?

Not really in stock form (200-250 ) but if the STi base engine in a year or so it certainly *could*.

Wow, I didn't think the 2.0 or the 2.5 made 200hp N/A. The WRX only had 227 originaly.:barf:

Going on memory, I *think* that's what the new DI NA Boxer 2.5s will come in around. Have to check, I might be confusing engines. . .

The Toyota definitely needs a emblem delete mod
Id have to see a concept car, not a drawing from Subaru before i can honostly decide
