:drink: Are you going to use it as your DD and go extra-psycho with the Evo?

:drink: Are you going to use it as your DD and go extra-psycho with the Evo?

see here is there problem i have 3 choices!!

choice 1 -
the evo stays where its at now around 500hp on a quick spooling turbo on e85 and with better tires would make an amazing road racing beast!! and this will get the brunt of my money investments!

and the starion is left with its single cam 2.6l engine and i do small things to it to get it around 200-280hp and have it as a DD baby burn out car. it rwd remember :-D

OR

choice 2 -
the evo gets put back to the stock turbo on e85 or its current turbo on 91 oct :-( no fun to be my DD

and the starion gets an evo engine and i built it to hell and make a 500-800hp drag beast

OR

choice 3 -
the evo get to stay where it is and turn into a road racing beast

and the starion get a similar e85 set up as my evo same turbo stock block with just cams etc..... and it turns into a nice drift comp car/road race car

and i could play with both but i know this will bleed my already thin pockets dry and if both cars are down then im screwed :-(

hell idk how the starion tranny will hold up to higher hp....it has a nice lcd and the evo engine or turbo eclipe engine *which is just an older evo engine* are direct drop ins for these car they bolt up to the tranny and what not.

for the short term though im gonna keep the evo as is because i know its good and reliable except for my risky tuning which is gonna change now lol....and keep the starion as is stock and dd it while my evo is in the garage keeping low milage and collecting value hopefully lol............

when i did some research i easily came to the conclusion that stuff for starions is way freakin cheaper then the same shit for an evo :-(

You can always save your money until you know what you want to do. I'm sort of at this point with the Vette. a) Continue making it a nice all arounder. b) go a bit nuts with either road race or drag setup. Almost certainly the first route for me.

Option 4

Drive your car that I've never heard of before (insert model name here) everyday. Keep it stock, simple, 87 octane fuel efficient and reliable.

Then spend all your hard earned (and/ or easy earned) cash into the Evo and make it as fast and ridiculous as you possibly can. Then pick me up and we'll go pick on some STIs.

i know what u mean like for real i want my cars to still be fun to drive not all scary and uncontrollable.

i feel like the evo is at that level ive pretty much met my goal with it and im happy where its at.

as for the starion idk ive never messed with a rwd car.....or even drove one expect for my moms e500 mercedes but merc's suck at lots of things performance so that doesnt count lol.

like i have no idea how breaking loose on a rwd car feels or like how to controll it when breaking loose in a turn.....or how to even controll a drift in a rwd car? its like a whole new world for me....

these are the things that really atracted me to the starion
-its a turbo 4 cylinder
-rwd
-mitsubishi lol
-an evo motor will drop right in
-it comes with lsd
-and its rear tires are 9' wide which aighnt bad from factory
-it kills the 80's rx7, 240sx, supra, hondas lol
-and jermey clarkson likes the starion and showed that it was a good car on top gear :-)

the last choice really did it for me though

Take it into a parking lot and make throttle heavy wide circles before you push it on the street.

f1 engines get rebuilt alot and are hardly seen in the real world.....rally cars and engines on the other hand :-D lol j/k i think every season i end up liking f1 more and more i also like grand touring or whatever that league is called where it involes porsches, ferrari's, vettes, and like more normal cars lol

No, just that you may lack the skill to control the greatest drivetrain setup available to the human race. Buahaha! Just kidding.

Seriously though, figure the car out before you take it racing up a mountain road. I was amazed at how well I was able to keep control of the Evo 8 that I drove once all 4 tires had lost grip. A RWD car on the other hand needs your immediate attention with the slightest bit of oversteer, I'm used to it obviously. But I'll bet you'd be surprised.

There's DTM, Le Mans, ALMS, Rolex, Porsche Cup, et. al. There's tons of racing with real cars. I'm a Le Mans/ALMS kind of guy. Any cars that can be pushed near its limits for 24 hours (or 12 hours at places like Sebring!) is truly amazing.

so here my interesting first day with this car so i get off of this guy in irvine.

and the initial probs with the car where the valve cover has a small leak in the back from when it was rebuilt, no power steering fluid, and it seemed to have a front sway bar prob that made the steering wheel shake a tad in some decceleration and accelleration, and the paint isnt as good as the pics make it look lol and it was on a donut bc the original front passenger tire was popped.

so anywho i drive it home and the engine, drive train are actually really good and responsive and had no probs.

so im 2 exits on the freeway from my house and all of a sudden the donut goes....ya i was driving faster then i should have lol.

so im stuck at 530pm with a flat its dark and wat not. so my friend takes me to sears to get this fixed...so i get the new tire on the rim and we get back to my car on the freeway......when all of a sudden another starion pulls infront of mine and he offers to help me and we start talking starion. and i tell him to follow me to sears again because i wanted to get another new tire for the driver front and an alignment.

so we get there and talk more starion....and his is cool..primerd white getting ready to paint he has a bigger turbo and he says its his 5th starion!!

so anywho he says he live around the corner from me which suprised the hell outta me b/c ive never seen a starion in the IE? but he tells me there are 2 more owners in ontario. so he calls his starion friend to meet us at sears to let me see his starion.....well JESUS!!!!

wen this guy showed up i was mega suprised his starion seriously looks freakin show quality the paint flawless, his interior was nice, and his engine was fuckin crazy nice...if i could take a pic of it ill post it up but damn if u see it ull be impressed.

anywho they knew starions in and out and in there conclusion i should spend 500-700 to get it perfect, reliable, and clean.

anywho the first thing i wanna take care of is the power steering to see if the reason it has no fluid is because of a leak or what because really having no powersteering sucks and its making me not like the car.....coming from an ever where i could control the car like a dictator on a 3rd world contry.....having no power steering if fkin death and also i wanna get a realistic perspective on how this car handles

Real men drive manual R&P. :nutkick:

Honestly, for what you paid seems totally fair to me. I wonder if the driveline is glass under real power

actually i didnt pay the price in the ad i payed talked him down to 2 grand.

also when i talked to those other starion owners they where telling me that the drivetrain is actually quite well made on these cars and neither one of them has had a drive train problem and between the both of them theyve had about 9 starions.
