I have a 2002 Protege 5 2.0L and it runs great overall, minus a tendency to randomly kick out of OD. After turning it off, then back on it is back in OD. Sometimes it will even go back in while driving. The only codes that get thrown, and then pretty quickly reset are: P1250 and P0715. Any ideas on root cause.

Hmmm. Sometimes Ford's can have this issue if the OD switch starts to short. I don't know if your year still shares any similarities with them still though. Try pulling the switch and driving without it and see if it continues.

Had a hard time getting the scanner to scan these. F-N windows 10.

These are replies from the network we use at work. Most common fix for P0715 is to replace the transmission turbine speed sensor. It is mounted on top of the trans. I sent the diagram to his phone.

Most common fix for P1250 is the fuel pressure regulator vacuum solenoid.

After finally getting the right sensors, the problem was totally fixed, and she's driving beautifully again.
