This thing lis looking pretty slick. I think it's getting beyond the "for a kit car" into something you could really dial in to a hell of a nice little sports car.

I like the looks but I don't like that it's only RWD. AWD is part of what makes the WRX so cool.

It's not trying to be a WRX or rally car of any kind, but an an affordable mid engine sports/race car. FTM, the latest incarnation can take an Eco Boost instead of the Boxer. The rest of the basic running gear is Subie though.

I concur with Ron, for what subies go for, and c5 vettes now a days id rather build the GTM

The GTM is awesome, but it's pretty damn big. This 818 would be much more pleasant in mixed environments.

In CA there is a Kit Car provision. Not sure how Smog is handled, probably a declaration of the source drivetrain, but I don't recall. It's possible, but probably not that easy.

They only issue like 100 of those SB exemptions a year and the waiting list is like 10 years or some stupid amount of time.
