That's my initial list - I know I'll think of others later...

My heart is only filled with love for creators, even if I'm not into what they do. Peace be upon them.

I'm serious. I hate "liberal" politics and especially economics. That pisses me off. But when it comes to the arts and anybody who makes an expression I respect them and their work. If I don't like it, I just change the channel so to speak. Unlike politics and economics, which may substantially affect my life one way or another whether I like it or not, the creative act of others can exist fully independently and therefore I have no need or purpose to judge them. There's plenty of things I don't particularly derive any musical enjoyment from, Jamiraqueer for example, but I don't hate them and can even appreciate their technical ability independent of other factors. Strong emotional opinions are for critics. I prefer creators.

I will say this though. As a genre, the one I could never really get into is Screamo a.k.a., hard core. It just doesn't light any bell I have. Curiously, I was really into Faith No More, which was beginning to hint in that direction at times long ago, somehow Mike Patton was able to make it work much better for me.

And yes, I said THE BEATLES. Yes we're thinking of the same band, yes I've heard their music before and I still think it's bloody awful.
I'm not going to respond to any comments about this because I don't feel like going on for 10 pages, suffice it to say I missed the band wagon as it drove by. And it didn't seem interesting enough to chase after.

Never been a Beatle fan myself. There is a couple songs I like--mostly from the White Album.

Coldplay
The Killers
U2

I like U2 for the most part. The first 3 songs on The Joshua Tree are excellent.
Coldplay is talented, but can be a little bit boring..

Bands? Music? I don't get it?
(reference to my musical ineptitudute)
I really do not care for...
Country (not a band but I have no better answer)

My wife and I are musicians (at least once upon a time I was). She was playing Beethoven and Mozart at a rather young age, competently. Perfect pitch, whole nine yards. I'm on month two of enjoying, but at times enduring an 80s hair metal binge the likes of which I didn't think possible. There's a bit more to enjoying music than most people think.
Brutal,
Whether you like Steely Dan or not is one thing. As musicians in the pure sense, they're awesome.
enkei,
WTF?
As long as no one says Hendrix I'll be able to keep my cool. Anyone who does may find unfortunate things done to their profile . . . just say'n.

I'm gonna try to see if I can think of a few sorta crossover country pieces you might like for one reason or another:
This song mostly reminds me of playing speed quarters, but that's a different story.

Great song.

A lot of the older (and older style) country songs actually have quite good lyrics.

And now, I feel the need (even though it's out of season) to bring in one of my favorite country artists with one of my favorite songs. Here's a little REK fer y'all
