Few weeks ago i had the cobra drop a cylinder, turned out to be blown out threads on the driver side for one of the plugs, after a quick heli-coil insert problem solved. Well...this one wont be so easy
On the way home from work had the car start overheating, got it home before it hit 3/4 of the way to hot. Once i went to refill the system, thinking maybe i still had a bit of air in it from the t-stat i changed when i did a coolant flush right before the plug incident, I turned on the heater to get the collant flowing through the core. Turns out i started gushing coolant out from behind the motor, literally as fast as i could pour it in. :bang:
Seems to be related to heater on/off, and it is most certainly pouring out of the heater core/evap drain through the firewall, though there is no coolant inside the car and no coolant smell to speak of either. Going to start tearin some things down this weekend and see if i cant get to the bottom of this. Ah, the joys of changing heater cores....:suicide:

Sure it's not a melted heater hose? I know it's a Ford, but I can't imagine a heater core rusting out in less than a decade.

*update*

Fairly certain its a head/head gasket issue. Going to do some testing tomorrow, but looks like i wont be makin the cruise after all. Quick, come up with some mods i can do with the excuse "its already apart" that dont require any more work than im already going to be doing :P

Cams and ported heads. Might as well since you will already have them off.

Heads and Cams would be extremely pricey and haven't shown to have much in the way of gains until you get into really high boost.

*update 8/17*

Heads are going out early this week, having them rebuilt, milled down a touch in case they warped, 5 angle valve job and some mild port work, just to clean up the passages a bit and match the ports. Ill be doing some MLS head gaskets and ARP head studs to keep from having to deal with this again, and possibly some Ford GT valve covers, or maybe crinkle black ;) Hoping to have it back on the road by friday, we shall see.
