Well it's final. I am not longer active duty and I have accepted a new job. I a working for a company base out of Santa Ana called ACD. They build cryogenic pumps designed for LNG. They are starting to build versions of these pumps for large merchant vessels due to new emissions requirements and the lower cost of LNG over diesel. It's exciting because they have taken orders, but haven't delivered the product yet. They are also seeing huge growth due to this new market. I will be basically doing program management as the director of marine engineering. Basically sure we meet time cost and performance requirements. I got to meet with the team of engineers that will be working with me as well as a large team of machinist. I was happy to see a place in Socal that developed, manufactured, and test the product in-house. I look forward to making it to more cruises since I will be closer. cheers!

Ten commissioned years 4 enlisted years. I am finishing in the reserves. There is a bonus for sub officers and healthcare for the fam is only $200. It came down to if I stayed in I was going to do at least another ten. That wasn't looking very appealing since promotions have stalled a bit since they are down sizing after the war and with the economy.

Congratulations! I for one am happy to see guys like you with strong skill sets come into the private sector where you can help make the world a richer place. :)
Are you gonna move to OC? SD to Santa Ana is quite a drive. Doable, but not fun . .
Does the military have its own PM certifications that are portable? The private sector has various certs, but PMP is probably the most common.
