If they'd calm down on the futurisitc rear end styling a bit I'd be all about it.

I love the freak'n front end....the rear, not so much. I'm with Adam on the rear. Calm it down a touch, and sign me up.

It's a Ferrari/Mustang Love Child with Lambo doors. Those design elements aren't futuristic, they're "common" in Europe.

Well then, let me replace the word "futuristic"... with the word "gay." Does the original sentence make more sense now? :D

to elaborate lol
if u look at the side profile it hints to the C6 vette
if u look at the front and the cars line its a mustang with a doge challenger/new camaro thrown together
if this is the new mustang look its cool i dig it...i just think that all the domestic companys trade mark cars are gonna be very damn close to eachother in visual aspects which might be what there all going for and let the better man/company/car win
heres what i predict
-best bang for you buck *stock*
mustang
-best bang for your buck if you want to modify and in HP gains per dollar
camaro
-best bang for you buck in sticking to roots
challenger
-if you want to drag race: camaro, mustang in 2nd
-if you wanna track....mustang *i just see more of them tracking then others*
-for the show factor...mustang, challenger in 2nd
-a drivers car : ya this is the hardest catagory for me too pick but i might have to go with the camaro....and mustang in close 2nd depending on model
so these are my predictions for the new domestic sports V8 line up

Here are my predictions:
They've all been slow heavy pigs, and the new ones will be... slow heavy pigs.
I'd consider buying one of these if I could reasonably and cost effectively junk 800-1K lbs off of one.
The way to go if you want to race a new car:
Saturn Sky/ Pontiac Solstice with an LSX transplant. Otherwise, do what Ben did. Smart man right there.

And the rear end has grown on me in the last 24 hours. Keep the taillights on one panel and I'd like it.

Ok I see it a little different.
-best bang for you buck *stock*
LS3 C6 Vette - not even close (base models are only about $10k up on the V8 Camaro and only nominally more expensive than the Challenger)
-best bang for your buck if you want to modify and in HP gains per dollar
Yeah, probably Camaro. A blower on the base and you're screaming for <Vette prices, at least in a straight line.
-best bang for you buck in sticking to roots
Yeah, I could go with the Challenger.
-if you want to drag race:
Including cost of go fast modifications, Camaro
-if you wanna track....mustang *i just see more of them tracking then others*
Are you huffing paint thinner? Vette:rolling:
-for the show factor...mustang, challenger in 2nd
subjective, there all pretty strong in their own way
-a drivers car : ya this is the hardest catagory for me too pick but i might have to go with the camaro....and mustang in close 2nd depending on model
What kind of driving? Cruising with friends in the back seat, any of them but the Vette. Really driving? Vette.
My opinion is completely unbiased and scientifically verifiable. (Sorta) :smack:
How's the Evo home slice? Break anything yet?

No, just with the cost of gas, heavy cars are becoming less appealing to me. And the more I ride around in RX7s and Miatas that can make me almost puke around a corner, my 3Klb car feels heavy as sh*t to me. When the weight starts to approach 4K I'm just no longer interested.
Lotus Exige, wave of the future.

It's true. I can point my wife's MX-5 at a corner and it just sticks and goes around it like you wouldn't believe. The vette will do it too, but it's a whole different (scarier) sensation; you can really feel the inertia wanting to go straight. I REALLY want to build a Factory Five GTM. 2,400 lbs mid engined, LSx power.

The GTM would be a personal project.
As for the electric drag car, not at the moment. Mostly a matter of time and expertise, even more than money. Though I thought, instead of doing a FoxBody drag car, doing like an old 240sx that could go to both the drags and AutoX, and be made street legal, might be more beneficial.

If you know of an affordable pre 1975 American platform that would be good for both AutoX and Drag, like a 240SX, I'm all ears. If it's a touch quirky all the better. Here at Motorgen we're ideologically promiscuous. Obviously for an electric car the starting platform needs to have the best potential for being light as possible. Hence something like a Fox Body as a great drag starting point, but the old SX could be even lighter and has the right balance and dynamics to do both Drag and AutoX.

Vega, Monza, Pinto, Comet, Dart do come to mind--such as it is.;)
Promiscuous??? Hell, I'd "DO" whatever and however and whenever and......................"female"..........................:judge:
Balance??? Hell, once you put the batteries and electric motor in -- what balance?

Which one of those do think is the best starting platform for Drag/AutoX? That means, potential lightness, availability of after market suspension parts, and initial cost. The motor and battery will add weight, but with placement of batteries "balance" can be preserved or at least bad balance minimized. Total weight is a different and sad story. :(

Probably the Vega. The Pinto comes in second, but it does have light weight and Mustang II type front steering.;)

How bout a flippin caged 1st gen Camaro that has been stripped down to 2K lbs. Interested? I'll find you ten.
I like the Silvia is it's a late enough generation. But a 1st gen electric Camaro would get famous for sure, real quick. IMHO.

Ya sure, what's the starting price? I was thinking <$2k for base platform, doubt you're goint to find a caged Gen I for that. :smack:

Mustang II. NO CONTEST. it is THE aftermarket suspension platform, parts are insanely plentiful, light car, decent aero, and not terrible looking...
