Nice! Bring the Z07.

The Viper is much better looking.

Yes it is. The vette looks like different sections were designed separately. I'm hoping like the c6 the performance models look better due to being lower wider with more aggressive functional openings.

The C7 looks pretty good to me overall, but it is slightly disjointed compared to the Viper. For me, it's the rear end that seems like it's not well matched to the rest. But overall, I definitely like it better than the C6. In fact, better than anything going back to the C3, which of course, is dead sexy.

Other than the rear end, the Vetted looks department hasn't really changed much at all. At least the Mustang has got better looking over the past couple years, the Vette hasn't.

Take another look. Tons of different design cues and elements.

To me it's a C5/6 wih different body panels. I still want to see one in person. If the interior looks as cheap as the C6 did, I'll be totally against it.

I have a friend that sat in one in person. He had negative remarks about the interior and the overall look of the car. I personally really like C2's, slammed FRC C5's, and race prepped C6's. There are plenty of cars that look much better than Corvettes. I really only want to go faster than everyone else. Never going to happen, but I'm keep spending money like I going to make it happen.:bang:

There's a word for this . . .

Why not do hard core spec series racing where the car is highly constrained and overall more affordable. Then you're really testing yourself and whatever tiny setup margins you can get out of the car. The MkIII from FFR has a series, there's a bunch of them I'm sure. Then, maybe, you want end up under a bridge as an old man someday. :jester:

Its a transformer, it is sectional. The Viper always looks cooler than the Vette.

Follow around a BRZ club and race with them ;) ...That would be mean.

Those series are difficult to compete unless you have a supporting crew. There is a lot of data loss and track day adjustments that I don't due simply due to time constraints. Especially when the heat turns up during the summer months.

I like the looks of the Viper more so than the Vette. As far as performance... they are two totally different beasts. The Viper has always been a wild beast and the Vette more refined. I think I would rather have a Viper than a Vette.

How does a Viper look like a BRZ when the BRZ came after the Viper? I see some design styling similarities but would not say they look alike. I have never looked at a BRZ and thought Viper.

Jeeze lets split some fucking hairs over which came first. They both look similar and I do not like the looks of either. C7 in gray please.

Everyone has experimented with some form of mind altering drugs at some point in their lives. Lets give c7 loving Guy some space while he explores a bit.

Fuck the BRZ. They are fucking expensive. $27k. I took the 5.0 autocrossing and was within 2 sec of the fastest BRZ. Duck AE 86 Fest too.

Not all guys like Vipers, just like not all guys like boobs. Maybe Guy is just one of those guys...

probably should have chosen a different pronoun.

It's not the like/don't like Viper part, it's the Viper looks like a BRZ I found mystifying. As my young friends would say, dafuq?

They have similar design cues for the front end, looks like many of the kitted up BRZ's driving around. Not a fan, however I love the C7, every part of it.

Except for the radically different proportions and pretty much everything else . . ok.

They do both come in white, have four wheels and stuff like that.

The Viper has bulged fenders, and rounded off roof, a swooping up rear end and a rounded off wide and prominent front end. None of which the BRZ shares.

But the coolest thing about it is that the cabin is sunken, the body lines flow down into it. No other car, with the exception of a Lotus and a C3 Corvette shares this feature.

Not to mention that the Viper is subsantially larger, and its a super car. Just a very insulting comment Guy... But hey, its ok, the Fox Body mustang looks like a Le Baron.

This is a much more interesting review since the Z51 isn't really meant to compete directly with the Viper. The 911s and the based corvette are direct competitors.

So this review is kinda bullshit. They are clearly hyping up the new Corvette. Corvette needs a dual clutch setup.

Concur. Wonder what the cost differential is for a DC? Maybe it's like $10k, putting the entry point in the 60s instead of 50s. If so, that's probably why. It'll happen of course, but the price has to be right. The value equation is most important for Vettes.

How does a dual clutch help anything? They should make it an automatic clutch like the Ferraris have

DC, which can be computer shifted, is almost instantaneous; no drop in power delivery to the wheels. Big difference in reality.

So the Ferrari transmission at least the older ones, actually release one gear and grab another very quickly. There is a moment in time where there is no forward driving force. Dual clutch transmissions like Nissan, Porsche, and BMW use two clutches. One cut he is engaged and upon up shift the second clutch grabs the next gear and the first clutch free wheels then positions on the next gear. This results in a continuos application of driving force. It's faster and cheaper. They are worth a few MPH and about 1/2 a second.

Cheaper than what? How? That's surprising to me, but I don't deeply understand the tech and the differences. I imagined something more complex (expensive) than a standard manual transmission.

They are in fact cheaper than the Ferrari transmission. It's easier to get the dual clutch working than a single clutch set up capable of shifting in 50 msec.
