Carlos and Guy biting at each-others legs inspired this thread. I want to see real times, next to the names of the track in here. Drag and autocross.

Fictional example: Laguna Seca - 4:02 (Best lap in the C3, Fukurmama R1 tires)

I think this might save a lot of arguing. Ron, Ben, Guy, Carlos, Joedls, that east coast Mustang drag racer, you are all officially being called out by someone who has never set foot on a race track. Oh yes.

How about time slips and video? Better yet any kind of official timing. How about just picking a track day.

Just post your numbers, and if someone calls you out be prepared to post slips or accept a match. I'm going to try to keep this thread free from smack talk. Numbers speak for themselves.

Videos, always yes :D

Damn you guys are fast. Looks like Ron is the drag king so far. Different auto-x tracks though, I see the dilemma.

I'm surprised your Vette isn't in the low 11s Carlos. Was that with the new motor? I guess it's setup for auto-x not drag though.

I'll ad the requirement that the competition be only among MG active users. For example, Paul Ho's Civic, while fastest for drag, is not from an active user (or ever was active, just registered). IOW, nobody just drops in to be a ringer with some super car time.

My Typhoon isn't super fast, but I need to go to Irwindale regardless, soon.

Speed Ventures 9 17 11 session 1 - YouTube Very nice times considering the goofy way they had turns 17, 18, 19, and 20 set up. You could have knocked off at least another second if those turns had been configured differently. Pretty damn good. :drink:

Not true. They usually dont put the cones coming ontopit lane that ar out and they leave the cones on the outside on 17 and 18 farther. It lets would let you take a wider line and pick up a few MPH for the front straight. NASA leaves them wider because they allow a smoother transition to the front straight, but NASA also runs the kink on the inside straight (until someone takes one for the team and hits the cone). I think it evens out since the kink was gone. Thanks.

Do these configurations have standard names? If not, I'm going to call them Rovel NASA and Rovel Speed Ventures (even if Speed Ventures sets up like NASA sometimes.) Unless someone has a better idea.

Yes and no. There is a different name for the configuration that the bike run. NASA and Speedventures and most of the car groups run the same configuration, except for the placement (or lack there of) cones and the movable barriers.

Buttonwillow has many different configurations that can really mix up the outcome depending on the type of car. They also run it clock wise and counter clockwise. The Big Track Willow only has one configuration and it's only run one way.

Did you not get that track racing is not important to him? I can understand this really if the point is just to have a fun street car, which is what my Vette is to me. Racing even remotely seriously is expensive and potentially time consuming.

If you dont race on the street, and you dont have any times to back up your "strictly race" claims... I dunno.
