[EDIT: Vettezuki] This bunch of posts was moved from the ACH cruise thread.

I was actually thinking of making this one, but then this happened:

The Dart block is a pushrod block. Going in the 68. Not sure whether I'll put a forged shortblock in or just replace it with a stock one and sell it.

I did. Like a dumbass, I sold it about 3 months ago along with a twin turbo kit.

I don't know, but I probably wouldn't sell it the way it sits. People would expect too much of a discount.

I won't be re-using any if the internals. I just have to decide whether to go forged and keep it or go stock and sell it.

I was fucking around. Missed a shift, bounced it off the rev limiter (which I had set too high). Then did another pull and I think I was slow when I speed-shifted. I'm sure I hit the rev limiter again. As soon as I shifted, it popped.

4.6 block stroked to 5.1 (3.75 stroke x 3.552 bore)
Forged 4340 steel crank
H-beam rods
Forged 2618-t61 aluminum pistons
Clevite 77 bearings
9.0:1 compression
Stock heads were rebuilt. Had to replace 3 valves; new seals, guides, keepers, lifters.
Valve/timing covers were powdercoated the same redfire as the car.

I was actually interested in your opinion. I was originally set on going for one of the hellion turbo kits, but I'm leaning towards a 2.9L whipple now. I think it will be easier to get the whipple by emissions and it can be upgraded to the 4.0L if the funds for a built bottom end become available. What do you think?

I don't really know much about turbos. Never done one. I was going to at one time but then changed my mind. I do know that many people have had success with them.

Since you like to road-race more than drag race, I think I'd look into a centrifugal blower. But I love the instant torque of the positive displacement blowers.

I've been following your build and Nordy's "what up from the east coast" builds because I'm building the Mustang as a weekend cruiser / Friday Night Test and Tune car. It isn't going to see much road racing. It beats the shit out of the car too much. I think I'm leaning towards a 2.9L whipple with shorty headers, slip pipes and a cat back for power. Suspension wise I'm thinking of getting the obvious control arms and lower control arm relocation kit. A shifter, clutch, and drive shaft would close everything out. I will start on it as soon as the Vette is done with it's current batch of upgrades.

Maybe if I could drive. LOL.

In any case I need to install an 8 rib belt system and probably change out my rearend gears. 2nd gear comes much too quickly. I can hardly shift before it hits the rev limiter. I have 4.10s in it. Thinking maybe 3.50s. I have plenty of low end torque without the steep gears.
