3D no, but I just bought an Auria 27" IPS monitor, which is a poor man's higher end monitor at $400.

Why 3D? Also what kind of resolution

1080 right now...but the color is the biggest issue they are having. That is because of the strobe effect they use at 120 to 144 hz for blur free motion.
The colors are not true and in a lot cases washed out.

My 27" is native 2560x1440 and after using my little ColorMunki to auto calibrate it, it looks pretty good.

Yes, that is good..but....it is still only 60 hz...I want 120hz to 144 hz for 3D and motion free movement. I want it all..:pot_stir:

Few questions. Do you have native 3D content or are you converting it form 2D?

Also do you want active or passive 3D?

Is this going to be used with a PC or as a TV?

If PC does your video card support 3D?

What are you looking for then?

The idea of 3D in my mind is a dumb one to start with. Give me a better res and i'll be happy. 4K looks awesome.

(I do have a passive 3D TV and ya its fun for the first 5 mins but then its just doesnt add anything)

4k next to HD is pretty obviously better. I've seen 8k and even that's noticable over 4k, though it's getting pretty detailed. When I bought my camcorder recently I debated to get a 4k one, but since my target is DVD and web, went with a good HD one (Canon XF105). Also, there aren't any prosumer level 4k camcorders yet other than piecing together something from BlackMagic, but you're still looking $3-5k and they're just too new. I wanted something bullet proof.

120 hz isnt hard to find in a god LCD and with and active 3D setup you don't need more light output like the passive 3D setups.

Actually light boost is for blur free motion.. check out the xl2720t -- vg278h just to name a couple. It also increase light on active 3D movies.

I just picked up a pair of Samsung B350's (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16824001551) from Costco for $240 ea. I like em but I am not a gamer. I use em to look at drawings and bid jobs.http://www.motorgen.com/pic/data/500/medium/20130526_172913.jpg
