The article below has some fascinating (and hair-raising) info about the aerodynamic reality of a commerial airliner flying at "normal cruising altitude". Reaffirms how amazing it is that so few planes fall out of the sky.

Flying already scares the hell out of me and all these crashes aren't helping...

The details from the black box for this flight (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Flight_3407) with the copilot screaming is one of the most awful things I've ever heard :suicide:
