I just read this article (http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/31206671/) on MSNBC. Fascinating stuff. Chimpanzees apparently have a far lower cancer rate than humans despite the fact that we are so similar genetically. The theory is that in order to evolve larger brains the mechanism that causes cells to die had to be relaxed. This in turn leads to more cancer in humans.
