Do they still have the GTM? It'd be cool to do one of those with ZR1 running gear.
BTW, some feller down and out just hit the Lotto jackpot. The sad reality for some of these folks is that between not having the best money sense to begin with and the hordes of vultures (including family adn friends) that come out of the wood work, they end up worse off than before winning the lotto. So if you hit it, I'll help you protect your interests . . . for a nominal fee. ;)

They do if you're infected with the speed sickness... I hate to break it to you Ben... I think you should go look in your garage... and out on your patio.

Oh, that's just a couple g here and there. The Vette, now that I piled some scrilla into. :judge: I thought you were talking about like twin turbo LS7s in a Toronado, that kinda thing. But yeah, if I had mad bank, I'd be playing with weird shi*.

I want to build a mid engine long travel ranger that can pull a wheelie on the street.

See, that didn't cost much. Now with time, effort and just a touch of good fortune, no reason you couldn't build that. And it might cost substantially less than your Vette has in relative terms.:drink:

The suspension alone would prob equal the blue book value of my Vette.

I said relatively. In other words, making $50 - $500/hour as an Attorney is a bit different than minimum wage as a greeter at Wal Mart. "Expensive" should almost always be considered in relative, not absolute terms. For some guys, an F430 is much cheaper than a Camry for others.

Not if you build it yourself. You could build a rear 4 link for a few hundred dollars. The coilovers would be the big expense at around $1500. Just make sure it's an older 83-97 with the TTB front and then you could build your I-beams and radius arms. You could even do it for cheaper by using 64 inch leaves in the rear with a long travel shock instead of coilovers.

Ron,
If he goes with the late 80's Ranger he could just beef up the I-beams as those ones are forged and can be welded to. That way he could plate them and only need to get Radius arms. A call to Camburg (http://www.camburg.com/fords1P.html) would be in order then! That would be one bada$$ road warrior/Off-road monster!
