Who's car (besides your own, obviously) would you choose as your favorite members car? Mine is this one, tell me if you can name who it belongs to.

If I had to guess, I'd say heypal's Vette.

Mine. Glenn's 64 Vette.

Then Paul's Camaro tied with Ray's Pantera

Well there was some guy that came to a motorgen event once and he had a viper like the one in C5 Nates pic. I think the lenses were blacked out... Id take that.

Otherwise Id take Carlos's C6.

No you didnt, you saw it parked on the side of the road as I was letting my headers cool down from having a clogged up idle circuit.

In other words, broken down. If it wasn't i'm sure you could have made it to the Nicks parking lot just around the corner ;)

So what part of my car was broken exactly? And was I broken down on the side of the road or did I pull into the parking lot to voluntarily pop my hood?

I pulled into the parking lot because I didn't want to risk driving even another 500 feet once my idle started acting up. I have a lot of money into that motor.

PS, You also saw me driving past Nicks going home. I pulled over, let it cool down, figured out it was the carb gummed up from sitting for so long, and drove it home. What about me pulling over, or driving myself home spells broken down to you?

And before you even say it, I decided to drive home because I didn't want to risk a cold start with one metering block working. But it did start, on its own, without me touching anything. So... no, it was not broken down.

Nothing was broken. And not working properly does not equal broken, nor broken down. Given that the car drove on its own.

So when I was younger and the fuel pump in the Chevelle would vapor lock in traffic I wasn't really broken down? All I had to do was wait 20 minutes for it to cool down and then it would start right back up and I could drive more. I eventually removed the inner fenders which resolved that issue.

Um, no thats broken down because your car is down. Not by choice.

My car turned off by choice, and turned back on when I needed it to. It was no more broken down than your car is when you park it at 7-11 for ten mins.

When your lifter was rattling and I assume you pulled over to diagnose? Were you broken down or parked and cautiously checking?

Keep it coming, Guys statement was clearly false and its not difficult to knock this one down.

I know Guy is your friend and youre trying to stick up for him, but come on man... IF you had pulled over, THEN it would have been broken down? Get real.

If your car stops working, its broken down. If you pull over, turn the key off, fire it back up and drive home... motha fucker aint broken down.

Are you guys going to argue that broken down is a psychological state of mind next?

To me yes it is. I've been broke down on the side of the road many times. Sometimes it was just because the car was starting to get hotter than I liked so I would pull over and let it cool down before driving in traffic more. I still considered that breaking down. With the example of what happened to your car though I wouldn't consider it broke down. If you had pulled over though to keep something from happening or to keep something from getting worse I'd consider it broke down.

Good to know my truck isnt broken then  I mean, it broke, I drove it off the freeway, drove it on to the tow truck, then off. But its still wouldnt go over 1000rpm and was in its locked in limp state. But since I willingly pulled over, then I guess its not broken and should just continue to drive it until it "breaks down"

If something isnt working the way it's supposed to, then it's broken. Hell, my race car was getting hot on the way to GMR, I pulled over, then kaboom, radiator hose exploded like i've never seen before. Wedged a piece of rubber down inside the radiator, still limped it home(after Ron stole parts from Eric), so I guess that's not in the realm of broken since it happened AFTER I pulled over..

Again, you're missing the initial point of me fucking with you. Had I not been, there would be no smiley.

Youre missing the point that youre wrong, and your statement was false. Hence my reasoning.

If I sent my metering block to BG and they found sludge in the idle circuit. Would the techs call me and say "hey, your metering block is broken! we need to use some carb cleaner on it." Hm, prob not. So, no, not broken.

Was it down? Well... since it did the speed limit + on the way there and back, it wasnt really down was it? Unlike your truck, which from the sound of it was down in the sense that it wouldnt drive on the freeway. So, no, not down either.

So not broken, and not down, Im gonna have to go with not broken down on this one. Sorry Guy.

PS, since my car is um... a car, theres really no need to keep using car analogies. We can just talk about my car directly. So what do you consider to have been broken on my car?

Not working correctly=broken. You chose to pull over to keep from further damage, if everything was the way it should be you'd have no reason to "pull over"

Truck was able to drive the speed limit, though it would be pretty stupid to keep driving it like that being it was in limp mode, which takes quite a bit to do. So i pulled over because it broke, now its down.

Again, whether I was right or wrong, my joke served its purpose well.

False. You dont consider a metering block broken with sludge on it, no one does. Youre just clinging to your statement because you dont like to be proven wrong.

Yeah, I was joking about the pulled over thing. I think the expression just basically means the car cant be driven without risking damage or doesnt run for whatever reason as simple as it may be at times.
