When the 2013 Jetta Hybrid (http://autoblog.com/volkswagen/jetta) was unveiled (http://www.autoblog.com/2012/01/09/2013-volkswagen-jetta-hybrid-detroit-2012/) at the Detroit Auto Show (http://www.autoblog.com/detroit-auto-show/) earlier this year, Volkswagen (http://www.autoblog.com/volkswagen/) suggested the car would get 45 miles per gallon on the combined cycle. Well, we're now 10 months closer to launch - still scheduled for some time in late 2012 at a price that starts at $24,995 plus destination (http://www.autoblog.com/2012/10/04/2013-volkswagen-jetta-hybrid-priced-from-24-995/) - and that's still the only efficiency number that Volkswagen has been able to hand out. This fits in with VW's message that the Jetta Hybrid - the fifth powertrain option, along with various gas and diesel models - is "efficiency without sacrifice" and "the antidote to the common hybrid." Seems like everyone is picking (http://www.autoblog.com/2012/05/17/ford-c-max-pricing-to-undercut-toyota-prius-v/) on (http://green.autoblog.com/2012/06/29/ford-c-max-hybrid-47-mpg/) the Prius lineup these days.Continue reading VW admits 2013 Jetta Hybrid gets worse mpg than Prius but claims it's for a reason (http://green.autoblog.com/2012/10/30/vw-admits-2013-jetta-hybrid-gets-worse-mpg-than-prius-but-claims/)
