Ignore the part about sections being closed. To my knowledge it is all fresh, new and beautiful. There is not much to stop at accept a cafe somewhere in the middle. There are scenic overlooks and stuff though. It's not terribly far from North OC. I have some biker friends that LOVE it.

How about Saturday July 26th. The two weekends before are Street legal drags....the only thing happening the 26th is PSCA both days and if we decide to head out to PSCA, the finals are on Sunday.

This is a good candidate, but I think there's a local corvette cruise on 26,27 now that I think about it that Glenn (and maybe others) will be going to. Maybe the following weekend, August 2 or 3.
Thoughts?

200 hundred miles? How about just 20 miles round trip. Let see 200 miles is going to be about 65 dollars in gas. Not that I'm counting.
OK, work on the 200 miles. How about Carbon Cayon at 3:00 in the morning?:judge:

Okay, I'm going to take the lead on this event. I'll do a test run soon to make sure it's what I think it is. I have some biker friends who run it all the time. Maybe I'll do it this Saturday if anyone wants to cruise along with me.
It is open to anyone and everyone, if it rolls, bring it.
Here (http://www.motorgen.com/forum/calendar.php?do=getinfo&e=1153&day=2008-8-2) is the event in the Calendar.
Let's make this first Motorgen organized event a flaming success. What better way to celebrate Summer and High Gas Prices?
Here's (http://www.motorgen.com/forum/showpost.php?p=3451&postcount=4) my first post on this run.

My first choice was actually "The Weight" - The Band, but didn't want to transcode from the new Real Player format, which was all I could get it in easily. I put the same video on our My Space page and actually got my knuckles wrapped for Copyright infringement. Booh.

We'll stick to this run this time but we can certainly do an Azusa run later. I'll be sticking to the departure schedule pretty strict so we should intersect the 210 at 11:00 am. PM your cell and if you decide to go we can attempt an in flight rendezvous . . . that should be interesting. :smack:

Hells ya it's still happening. I even reserved the Chilao room at Newcomb's very posh. Ok, not so posh, but it is reserved. There's only 11 registered on the event:

But we expect more from other places, and to even pick some up as we roll. Bring all your Mopar pals.

This is from TurboBuick, but this is what happened with the GN that broke down - glad it was nothing too serious.
"I learned some things today whiole climbing Hwy 2 in my GN....
Apparently...Turbo Buicks don't like altitude
Apparently...Turbo Buicks don't like altitude and high temps (220-237) at the same time
Apprarently....they also don't like the above while going uphill
Apparently....all the above together will possibly cause the buggers to vapor lock and leave you stranded on a lonely desert mountain hwy where there is no cell phone coverage...
hmmmmph...
Who knew?
Thank you Sytech for coming back 6 miles down the hill and rescuing me. Car was misfiring and chugging to a stall at low rpm. It would start back up, idel for a minute or two and then sputter to a stall again.
Before Sytech came back to help me, my buddy and I had tried a few things in a panic. Unplugged the MAF...no change...unplugged the TPS....no change....fixed a loose ground screw near the battery....no change...pulled my alky chip, turned the boost down to 13 lbs, turned off the alky, put the non-Alky TT chip in...of course...no change.....
Know what else I learned once I got home and reset my tune.
Apparently....if your spark plugs are loose in their sockets and the gap a little too wide (0.35 instead of 0.32)....it'll contribute to the above issues and really rob your power....huh.....
Who knew?
Sytech taught me this on the road side on Hwy 2 as we pulled, inspected, cleaned and regapped my plugs during his rescue mission. They were all kinda loose. I guess I was too gentle when I installed them 8 mos ago.
Once I got home, put my alky chip back in and turned the boost back up to 18 lbs...I took it our for a romp to be sure everything is back to normal....and the bonus is....the car feels a ton stronger than it did at 19lbs before all this happened.
Hey Spoolfool....I think I might now be able to break that 76 mph barrier in the 8th we ran into a couple weeks back while we set up my Alky tune. Butt dyno says so. I even beat up on a Porsche Cayman S to be sure. They are supposed to be mid 13 cars....I started from behind him at a light. He took off and I was passing him with ease before we hit 75mph
I'll hook up the laptop and do a few pulls in the next couple days and let you know what the direct Scan says.
Pappa Lou....I promose not to hurt the motor before bringing it to you for that work."

I didn't see Carlos get pulled over, I actually thought it was Eric that got pulled over. As we reached the last couple miles coming down the hill some guy in a Scion xB was driving seriously 20mph. People started honking and all kind of stuff and the guy would not pull over. We had like a line of 7 cars. I finally passed him on the right in a turnout after this went on for like 10 minutes. It was pretty crazy. Oh, and for the record, I had the White 04 Mustang Cobra and my name is Sean Plunkett (hence, SeanPlunk).

Was that a little before Eric got pulled over? He was following Eric and I and then all of a sudden he wasn't there.
It was as soon as we started leaving. Actually looked kinda fun..
Just curious, why did you pull over on the side of the canyon?

My nephew Eric was following me when he got pulled over (which I didn't see). When I looked in my mirror he wasn't there so I pulled over and waited for a minute and then turned back around to find him.

I was wondering what he got pulled over for, since we were all driving well underneath the limit I knew it couldn't be for speeding :sm_up_there::sm_laughing::rolling: I'm glad to hear he didn't get a ticket though - that would have totally put a downer on the day.

Yea, the day turned out great.. I actually was getting bummed out because i was running late. In one of your initial posts you mentioned that you guys will be rolling out by 11:10 - 11:15 and i showed up around 11:30.. I expected to see an empty gas station..
This is going to be one heck of a month for cruising for me.. TSP it putting on something on the 9th and the week after there's like a 100 car, 100 mile cruise that OC horsepower is putting on..

I'm so glad you didn't get a ticket - when I saw you pulled over I was thinking :barf: Thanks for coming - I had an awesome time. We'll definitely be doing something again maybe towards the end of September, I just have to plan it out :pot_stir:

Did Eric get a ticket?
I think the other names I can remember are:
Paul - 73 White/Red Camaro (kdracer)
Mike - Honda Bike
Adam and his girlfriend Shannon: Yellow 04 Mach 1 (FordFreak)
Ray - Really sweet Grand National/black rims (SyTech)
Andrew - Black Nissan 300ZX
Carlos - The mad bomber in the Black C6 :) (BADDASSC6)
Paul - Red Z06 Corvette
Let me think on it, I know more will come to me.

Hey thanks to everyone for making the lone import guy feel welcome. It was my first cruise with domestics and my friend Daniel and I had a great time. Contrary to what all the import guys say about you domestics, you people are allright.;)
BTW Sean I was at the end of the group stuck behind the Scion and I was laughing my ass off when you blew by her. That was awesome! We also saw Eric getting pulled over. Glad to hear you avoided the ticket Well I am looking forward to the next run and maybe some other 300zxers will participate.

No problem man, thanks for coming. We actually thought more imports were coming, but obviously some people couldn't make it out. We're going to do another event at the end up September at some point - we'll have more variety for that one, I promise.
That guy in the Scion was so lame. People were honking and stuff and I could see him laughing with his passenger. I tried to stay back, but after 10 minutes I had to make the pass :D

Nope, I was, believe it or not, there at precisely 11:15am. That's how I roll. :smack: Sean, who was at the tail end, was there at 11:21 according to his almost certainly inaccurate watch. :nutkick:
PS You need to not work on August 30th. We'll probably be leaving in the early/mid afternoon, maybe that helps.
