Hey Guys, I have a 67 El Camino, it has the tilt steering wheel, but it is loose. I have read on some forums there are 4 bolts deep inside the column that need to be tightened. I'd rather not do this myself. What type of shop would I take this to for this sort of problem? Can anybody recommend one? I live in North Orange County...

Are you sure it's the steering colum? There are tons of things on old GMs that can wear out. Have you checked the steering box?

I replaced the steering box a year ago. The steering wheel itself is not loose. The older style tilt steering columns (1967) are known to wobble, due to four bolts that hold the tilt mechanism which eventually become loose over time and useage. I really don't want to fix it myself. I am willing to pay a shop, if it is reasonable...

I thought I saw a thread on another forum where you can easily got to 2 of the bolts. From what I read is that people just tighten those 2 down and call it a day.
