My wife just got her masters and we are looking to get her a new car. I went to the Navy Exchange and saw that they had a 5.0 for sale here in Guam. After speaking with the salesman we priced a brand new 5.0 gt premium package with the leather Recaro seats and the track package (brembos and 19" rims) for $35k not including sales tax or registration.
Chime in if you think it's worth pulling the trigger now or if I should wait. The other thing is that I can only get this deal while deployed overseas.

Seems pricey relative market average here in the US at this time considering incentives . . by like $5k

2012 or 2013?

Oh, and stick or auto?

If it's a 2013 that would appear to be a good deal.
Edmunds has a 2013 with those options going for $37,248 right now for a stick, and $38,346 for an auto for true value.

Here is the true car (http://www.truecar.com/prices-new/ford/mustang-pricing/2013/2B6B06C1/?trimOptionIds=5-C,6-C,19-C,20-C,8-C,0-C,45-C,47-C,30-C&incentiveIds=3000344186&exteriorColorId=919682&interiorColorId=919668) for what you're looking at as a 2013. Again, looks like you're getting a pretty square deal (36,623 average for stick, 37,643 for an auto).

2012 or 2013?
Good point. I was only looking at 2012. I *think* up until 2012 only the Stick had the Brembo package AIR from Nordy Racer.

I'm not sure if it's a 2013 or 2012. It will be a GT Premium 6 speed with track package (Laguna secs radiator, 3.73 gears, brembos, and 19" rims). I'm ordering it from the factory and it would be delivered late August. She like grabber blue!

If it has the Recaros as an option, it's a 2013.

Congrats. When you get done in Guam are you going to have to ship it back to the main land?

No, the car will never actually be in Guam. It will be manufactured in the where ever ford is building mustangs right now and then shipped to Encinitas Ford. I'm just ordering it via a overseas new car program offered by the Navy Exchange.

Gotta love the Navy Exchange. I miss it actually. Tax free everything. Did you have to pay taxes on the car?

Yes, I will have to pay taxes on the car. It will be delivered to Encinitas Ford. I will have to pay taxes for California, Registration, and the dealership $250 processing fee.

Nice. Let the in-house shit talking begin. Of course your wife will have a long way to go to catch up to your Vette.

No way, all she needs are some NT01's. We all know Mustangs are way better than Vettes.

If I remember correctly it was the MT E.T. streets that got you the win. I remember someone not willing to line up on street tires.
BTW, is california speedway still shut down for drag racing?

I emailed them last week to find out if there has been any change and they responded with no. They're lawyers are still looking at it.

September 22nd.
Man i'd like to make that. The race car is still 5-7k away from being driveable lets say around 10k to being "done". I'm focusing on the blue car right now which in no way will be a challenge for the vette. Maybe on the drag strip. But no where near any handling juncture.
