I could get it for $1500. What say you? I would still title and insure it for the street, possibly do a new wrap for it. But would you scrap my current body for it?

I'd like to do another build but i'm not sure i'd be able to swing it.

Probably not. I'd just finish the Fox you have and use it on the street and track. If you want a full legit race car down the road, then do that. JMO.

I havnt truly driven my car on the street in nearly 2 years. The new motor wont be very street friendly either, and being i have the g-force going in as well, that's not going to help streetability. I suppose i could swap stockish suspension onto it then take all the good stuff and put it on the race body.

What do you want to do exactly? The older I get the more I think it's silly (personal opinion) to build things like a race car for street at all. There is an art in making a real GT that's genuinely sporty without be punishing. Beyond this, just make a damn race car for off road use only. JMO.

I dont want to limit what classes i can run in, the class i built my car for requires interior and tags. I wouldnt plan on driving the car much on the street, maybe a couple cruises and a car show or two. The car now is punishing, loud, uncomfortable, generally not pleasing to drive in a situation other then racing. So i figure why not make it official, maximize the effectiveness of everything and push the parts the way they were intended. Would you really want to drive a .90 final ratio trans on the freeway?
It's not like i dont have a street car, the 07 is stock and the 88 will be a comfortable performer.

I'm just sorta increasingly of the mind of compartmentalization. Street car is a street car. Race car is a race car. But I get what you're saying. Does the money stuff really work out?

Do it! If I had an extra $1500 I'd do it.

The money stuff wouldnt put me too far behind, the car was set up for the same suspension i have now. I could have everything swapped over in a weekend. I would need new rims and tires, which isnt a big deal. I could run a 17x10 up front and a 17x11 out back. 335 in the front and who knows how big i could go in the rear. And i'm ok with that. :) everything else would be a straight swap. I would just lose the sexyness of the gunmetal.

Or just pick up a POS Stang and use that instead. The grey one is in great shape, hell, I wouldn't mind owning it.

The gray one i've done a good job at hiding it's flaws. Salvage title for one thing, rust bubbles around the sun roof and pieces of the doors. Nothing major, but enough of an issue that if i spent anytbhing fixing it i would be better off swapping bodies. Also, i still havnt installed my cage yet, $600+ towards swapping bodies. My plan was to widen the back to match the front but this car is already done. I might pick up a shitty roller and put stock suspension on the gray car and store it away for a while.
The issues isnt needing another stang for track use, i could pick this one up and do another build, but that's alot more money then using the thousands in parts i already have.
Still not sure.

Thats exactly the way I would keep it.... Sleeper status

Nothing sleeper about it, 2" primarys, 3" out dumped mid car. Fenders pulled 5", all i'm really doing is sacrficing areodynamic mods, hence the interest in the body

Sells yours, cut the vin off that junker and weld it on to the race car. Title it, drive it.

Hum what? Race car has a title
Had another idea, pull suspension goodies off the 87, install onto the race chassis. Install black engine, put stock suspension onto the 87, install spare 393. Have monster of a *whatever* vehicle. Auto with paddle shifters, maybe an irs. Who knows, we'll see how the sale of my truck goes.

Sounds like a good idea. Its sweet having a grocery getter with a 393ci monster... oh but everything I hear about paddle shifters sucks... my buddy hated them in his car.
Oooooorrrr you could save the 393 til next year and I'll buy it from you and put it in my old truck lol.

I swas thinking of a 5r55s. Would require a stand alone controller, but is a very sorted out auto, i've driven it with paddle shifters and it was awesome.
I wont sell the 393, i already promised it to my lady. If it does go into the mustang it will only be temporary until she gets her t-bucket.
