The fuel pump was going out in the Cobra. So today I dropped the tank to see what part number Walbro was in it. I knew it was a 255 but didn't remember if it was the high pressure version or just the regular pressure one. This is what I found.

No wonder the fuel pump was having such a hard time. GTR didn't have one in stock so I ordered a one and also picked up a new screen.
I also installed a new starter because it was going out too. While replacing the starter I noticed that the elbow on the intake tube had a hole in it. Between that and the fuel pump I'm hoping the issues that I've had recently will be resolved.

Better in the screen than in the injectors...

The fuel filter would catch any smaller paticals. I'm actually glad it looks bad because it helps explain the issues it's been having.

The intake tube looks like you tried to drill a hole into it.

I think what happened is that oil inside it heated up and burnt a hole through it. With 90,000 miles on it the engine has a little bit of blowby and it ends up in the intake track. I'm going to buy a new elbow but this time I'm going to try and insulate it.

I received the new fuel pump and installed it on Saturday. All I've been waiting for is the new elbow to get here from UPR which arrived today only to be the incorrect one. The one I received is only 2 3/4 to 3 1/4 inch and it was supposed to be 3 to 4 inch. So they are shipping me the correct one tomorrow. Hopefully they will overnight it to me but chances are they'll ship it ground so I won't have it until next week. F*&^!

I'm installing a new fuel reg/filter in the hopes it's the remaining part of my problem. . . After that, it's the pump for me too. .

If all I was doing was the pump then the car would have been running last week. I ordered the elbow from UPR on Monday last week. I ordered the fuel pump from Summit on Tuesday. Summit said 4-6 days shipping, UPR said 5-7 days shipping. Fuel pump arrived on Thursday last week and the elbow got here today.

I think is poetic that it happened to you days after me, not cause you're karma is horrible, just that UPR is that shitty of a company

So UPR told me that they were going to ship the new elbow 3 day. They should have shipped it overnight since it was their error but they have shitty customer service. Anyways when I didn't receive it Friday I called them. Apparently their shitty shipping department shipped it ground. I will never buy anything from them ever again. It finally arrived today and the Cobra is running great!

UPR has been in business for a long time, they should already know how to treat a customer.
