You have a rather expansive view of what constitutes a weekend. :smack:
I'd love to, but I'm afraid the work Gods will have me by the nads for a while.

"Hunting and use of weapons in the park is illegal.
As of February 22, 2010, a new federal law allows people who can legally possess firearms under applicable federal, state, and local laws, to legally possess firearms in this park. It is the responsibility of visitors to understand and comply with all applicable state, local, and federal firearms laws before entering this park. As a starting point, please visit our two state’s websites (California and Nevada.) Federal law also prohibits firearms in certain facilities in this park; those places are marked with signs at all public entrances.
Other weapons including air guns, bow and arrows, slingshots must be rendered temporarily inoperable or are packed, cased or stored in a manner that will prevent their ready use. These weapons will be kept out of sight insofar as is reasonably practical."
Seems it would ne be a good idea to bring my goodies, also, if i'm in this sort of area and I am not allowed to holster up, attending is out of the question. Just how it goes for me.

Me and my friends agree. Thats why we go just outside of the park. There are a few spots in the park that are nice. But because of the gun rules we try to stay away. The rules say its opk to have a gun with you you just cant load it or fire it.
This is where we would be going this time

Now that is really neat. I wonder how many of those exist and how to find their locations.
Then I need a 4wd.

We have been to about 6 cabins out in that area there are about 20 - 30 of them. Some really cool some not so great. Most of the stuff out there you can do in 2wd.
There is only one spot that you will need 4wd or a tow (my buddy and i have a winch)
any truck on 31's can do it easily

I have a stock 73 F250. I have had it in some interesting places of course sand is a no-no. And I try and avoid bushes that scratch the original paint.

You could make it out there no problem. No sand and no bushes. Alot of rocks but no real rock crawling. Where we plan on going the first night a Subaru could make it with no damage if they took it slow in one or two parts.
Right now that plan it to have 2 Isuzu troopers and 2 4runners go out there. So very little fear of breaking down and getting stuck.
