I have an 06 GTO that needs a new set of tires. Which brand should i get?

The Nitto is a softer tire with a 280 UTQG where the Continental has a 340 UTQG. So if traction is a concern the Nitto will more likely work better.

NT05's all the way.

i disagree, and do so rather strongly. I have had both tires, and the contis were a revelation. they have FAR more grip than anything at that treadwear has any right to, but were also nearly silent, and good in the rain. Ive used lots of tires, but i may NEVER use anything else as a street tire, ever. Best tires ive ever bought, and its not even close.

Nitto Neo Gens, best bang for your buck. Those, the Hankook V12s (cheap too), or BFG KDWS (tear drop ones) if you want to spend the money. I had the BFGs and Neo Gens on my old 05 GTO and both were good, even in heavy canyon runs through GMR.

Disagree with those advocating the neo gens. As I said, ive had them both, so im speaking first hand here. The contis, in my opinion, outperformed the neo gens in every single way, and were a fantastic tire. Just my .02

I've never run either, I was just going off the UTQG rating. I've run a bunch of different tires on the Cobra though (currently runnning Nitto NT555) and the best tire so far has been the Nitto NT01. It's the only tire I've run that hasn't spun in second gear at full throttle. Well besides the M/T ET Street slick that I use when I drag race.

I love my NT05's. They have better street manners then my R6's did. But i dont have fears of dieing with the NT05's plus they were pretty affordable.
Ron, did you get my text about the tires?

I did. Not sure I'll be able to get them. I'll have to wait and see.

Cool, just wanted to make sure. That price includes mounting and balancing as well

Thanks for all the input guys! what's the treadwear like for the CONTi?
I can get both models for around 140$ a tire shipped so as of right now I'm leaning toward the CONTi

I found it on tirebuyer for 140 free shipping so its 562$ + 100 for mounting and balancing at the local tire shop.
$662 plus tax isnt too bad

These are in stock, the DW's come out to what the NT05's cost but thats after waiting for shipping. Personally i's run the NT05's, but tis your decision.

Well I ended up getting the nitto neo gens because the continentals went up 30$ a tire the last weekend :(
I paid 136$ per tire plus tax for a total of $599 with free shipping to my local discount tire shop. they only charged me 59$ for installation. what a deal!!
So far the tires are nice. really quiet and stick like glue.

You'll like them a lot once they break in a bit more.
