In AS there is no required sniffed test requirement for OBD II vehicles. They just run codes and test the gas cap tightness. This is pure ducking magic for us with O2 simulators.

I need to get a few car's registered in AZ. Not because they wont pass smog but because I want them registered for 2 years.

Freedom. :)

I'm actually considering moving there. I like the states views and laws on a few other subjects as well. :D

I wonder if we can get them to trade governments/laws with us. Then we would be the ultimate state.

The next round of Ca smog check update should have this . The machines we have now came out in 97. Still uses a dail up mo-dumb to upload the certs. Was due out last year, but has been delayed.

I think it will be used on 2000 up vehicles, and the older will still get sniffed.

Well, the vette doesn't require smog yet, but uncle sam is requiring all cars (except diesel) to be smogged before getting base stickers. Fucking Gay.

I'm so glad I don't live in a place with emissions testing. MN stopped testing in 1999... the only downside is in some of the more "redneck" cities there are way too many loud obnoxious trucks... especially the early 90's GMC/Chevy 1500 series... nothing sounds worse than a 350 w/ dual straight pipes (no mufflers, no cats, no crossover)...

Yeah, and those assholes with diesels that spew smoke all over the place

 the diesel guys don't bother me as much as the redneck straight pipe crowd who think their rusted '93 Silverado is the pinnacle of automotive performance and engineering.

Its the same around here, being close to the offroad places those guys think they really have a shot, in their 2.3l lifted ranger. Pretty sure I can push my stangs down a hill faster
