Was sound asleep at Frankie's last night. 12:30am.....phone beeps....It's my 23 year old daughter......car is over heating...BAD... i ask "Where are you?"
"Far away'.......60 miles from Needles in BFE. A friend of a friend's Dad has cancer and might not make it till next week. Robyn decides to drive her there. DOESN'T tell me, so I can't tell her to take my 09 yaris, instead of her POS 93 Camry.
motor blown. took 2 hours to go the 30 miles back to Ludlow.
Long story , short, I just drove 30 miles past Ludlow on I40 to pick them up. 430 miles rounf trip. Got the car back to Ludlow, and have to go back tonight to get it and tow it home....... working with no sleep.......FML.

FFFFFFFFF Me 2 times..... had a tow truck driver that brings us cars to the shop, offer to help me out, and use his AAA unlimited tow. He made several calls, got it all arranged. I was to drive back out to Ludlow, call him when I got to Barstow. He would then contact AAA and they would send out Barstow towing to meet me. We would meet him back at the shop, to provide his card. It was all approved before 3pm.
Drove out, made my call, He called me back and said it was good to go. After sitting in the coldest, darkest piece of earth I have ever been for a hour, he calls and tell me AAA has cancelled the call, and would not be coming. Drove back without the car.
I had a truck and trailer lined up for yesterday, but the the tow driver made it seem soo much easier.:suicide::suicide::suicide::suicide::suicid e::suicide::suicide::suicide::suicide::suicide:

What a dick, can you upgrade your AAA account to unlimited, then give them a call?
I used to have unlimited roadside, it wasn't much more expensive. But after like 4 calls in one year they refused to give it to me the next year! Ha

Better yet, if you can borrow a truck... rent a car dolly from UHaul for $50. I towed my roommates car, it was fun.

Supposedly AAA only offers their premier towing membership to less then 1% of its members. You have to have at least 50 years of membership (family or otherwise) or thats what they told me anyways. I get 1 500 mile tow, 3 200 mile tows, and 1 100 mile tow. And runs about $175 a year, WELL worth it.

I don't have AAA. It was a deal through a friend of my boss. he works for a tow company and has a premium membership. Most times having the member at the end location will work. AAA decided after all the pre-arranged approvals, after the truck was in route, that they could not not let us do it. It was a shady deal from the start. Just sucked that I drove 3 hours before it went South.
Sooooo , after 3 sleepless night drives to the desert, and tons of fuel, got it here.

 What’s wrong with people?! (Rhetorical question) Years ago a friend of mine had the change in his ashtray stolen. The worst part about it, for him, was they took the ashtray too. Why not, right? The thing ended up costing him 60 bucks. He told me: “I’d have gladly given them the money if they’d left me my ashtray.”
