Hi everyone. Seems like a nice place here. :)
Name is Jamie but everyone calls me Jammer. I'm in the IE (San Bernardino). I have a 89 Mustang GT with a mild 306. It's my DD but I also use it to do some drag racing on occasion. I've also just finished putting my wife's project car together, an 86 LX 5.0/5spd.

Welcome aboard. Nice wheels. We're working on a slightly less nice 88' LX 5.0.

Welcome. Mild 306 with the wheels in the air? I like your idea of mild. What's done to it and what's it run?

Thanks brotha. And thanks for all the welcomes. We actually got that 86 for free less motor and trans from a bro of mine. If anyone has hung out at four eyed Pride, it's twisters old ride and was a mag feature car at one point.

What gearing do you have? I pull 1.4's in my Chevelle (10.01 @ 133) and I only pull the front tire about an inch. My Cobra does 1.7's (11.69 @ 119) and it doesn't pull the tire at all.

It has 3:73's. To be perfectly honest, I have no suspension at all. Worn out struts in the front and some cheap boxed LCA's. so the front end shoots way up when I leave. The down side to that is it unloads on me and the last time I was out, it started to slip when it did.

That's crazy that it comes up so high. I launch the Cobra at 6000 rpms and it doesn't lift a tire. What do you launch at? All though your car is probably a lot lighter than mine. With me in it the Cobra weighs 3660.

The caddy will never get a wheel up. EVER!!!! Its sitting at 3850 before me and IRS.

While it's entertaining to watch, the monkey motion is very unwanted and I'm in the middle of making it right suspension wise. It actually woke me up last time I was out seeing as I don't have aftermarket axles or torque box reinforcements on the car yet. All that stuff is sitting under my TV to remind my lazy ass that I need to install those things. lol. Your cars are fast because (i'm guessing) you have your suspension set up properly. I can't explain the 60 foot times though. All my buddies that are running well into the 11's are pulling 1.5x 60 footers.
I leave at around 5,500 and shift it at around 5,200. My car weighs around 3,400 with my narrow ass in it. It's a full interior car and the only things I've deleted were the AC stuff and the front bumper/fog light bar.

The Chevelle has stock suspension except for 90/10 shocks in the front and tubular upper and lowers in the rear with adjustable shocks. The front has the stiff big block springs, just with a coil and a half cut off them and the 90/10 shocks are about 18 years old. It also still has the stock 1969 axles in the 12 bolt just with c-clip eliminators.
The Cobra has the Maximum Road & Track Box which is why the times are a little slow for the mph. If I had a drag oriented suspension it would run quicker.
